I almost don't want to post a review for this wonderful little Norfolk gem, in case it gets 'discovered ' by the Tripadvisor hordes..! The bookshop itself is an Aladdin's cave, full of literary delights that one immediately wants to read - and own. Lots of fascinating local stuff as well, plus a really esoteric and fun collection of greetings cards.

But! The 'holy of holies' for me is Ceres' little tearoom and tea garden at the back of the bookshop. A wondrous little place - peaceful and quiet with lace table clothes and tasteful china. And where are served the very best home made cakes in all of Norfolk! Claire, the sparkling, friendly owner, and her equally nice deputy, Donna, make them on the premises, and they are superb. Claire and Donna have two charming young helpers who are there when they are busy. I drive there once a week from my home in Downham Market ( a 30 mile round trip) and invariably there are or four or five scrumptious cakes to choose from. Their coffee comes in an individual cafetière - rich and aromatic - and is always delicious.

Such a lovely place, and run by equally lovely people. Definitely somewhere to visit - wherever you live in East Anglia
