Description: A pretty, quaint and quirky little tea shop, which can be found nestling in the very centre of the historic market town of Wymondham, Norfolk. Themed around Alice in Wonderland, the shop itself, has a vintage feel with pastel blue and pink walls, bedecked with bunting, vintage crockery and a range oddments. We pride ourselves on providing good, wholesome food, complemented by good old fashioned friendly service. We specialise in serving a wide range of home made cakes, scones, sausage rolls and much more. This is complemented with fresh bean-to-cup coffee, teas and a range of other hot and cold beverages. In short, Mad Hatters Tea Shop is "a slice of home made loveliness" !

“Delightful!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 January 2014 via mobile

Passed thro' Wymondham on Saturday and went in for morning tea and a scone. Excellent quality and service at a very reasonable cost. So much so, we planned our return journey round a return visit for lunch. Very envious of the people on the next table with their marvellously presented afternoon tea, though. The shop plays up the name nicely with artfully mismatched crockery and decor. The only drawback for the business is that potential customers look through the door and see it is full!
Oh yes, we took advantage of their cake-away service as well...

“Sweet little place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 January 2014

On a cold day what's more warming than a sumptuous bowl of soup I was treated to just this. Note though, no loo's on premises and they do not take credit cards, otherwise quite an acceptable stop off.

“Cream Teas”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 November 2013

Lovely idiosyncratic tea room in the market town of Wymondham. Some seating outside when the weather is fine, and a bit of a squeeze inside, but this just adds to the charm and Wonderland feel of the place. Had a cream tea for two on a warm indulgent day in September, and it was glorious. Huge scones full of fruit and flavour - none of the horrid bicarbonate zing you get with some scones! Huge pot of tea, and the cream tea presented beautifully on a cake tray. Lovely waitresses and beautiful place to stop for a tea and cake or spot of lunch. Hope to see this place booming in the summer as it's so great to have an alternative to the bog standard chain places!

“Farmer's Market”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 October 2013

Popped in for a coffee and snack after shopping at the farmer's market today. Just in time as it started to fill up. We had cheese on toast and cheese and tomato toastie. Very good value especially as freshly prepared and very filling. Latte and tea, all served on/in quirky mismatched crockery. We have a rewards card so will definitely be going back. :-)

“Back in Time”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 October 2013

Quirky little tea shop. Just like going back in time, re atmosphere. Tea pots, each with tea cosy !
Home made food and fillings made on the premises. Brilliant cakes again all homemade with loads of TLC. Well worth a stop for a light lunch, with tea and cakes.
