Description: A pretty, quaint and quirky little tea shop, which can be found nestling in the very centre of the historic market town of Wymondham, Norfolk. Themed around Alice in Wonderland, the shop itself, has a vintage feel with pastel blue and pink walls, bedecked with bunting, vintage crockery and a range oddments. We pride ourselves on providing good, wholesome food, complemented by good old fashioned friendly service. We specialise in serving a wide range of home made cakes, scones, sausage rolls and much more. This is complemented with fresh bean-to-cup coffee, teas and a range of other hot and cold beverages. In short, Mad Hatters Tea Shop is "a slice of home made loveliness" !

Pretty little cafe. Vintage/shabby chic/farnhouse kitchen.
Beautiful crockery and table ware, proper tea in china pots and cakes to die for.
Loved it.

Excellent place for that afternoon cream tea experience, or just a nice cup of tea or coffee, real china cups, fancy tea cosies, china cake stands, proper large teapot which you easily get two cups of tea each. They do other light snacks too plus a range of teas.Very friendly staff , such a pleasure to eat there and very reasonably priced. The place is small but pretty,Im just sorry it's not open on a Sunday but that's probably good for the waistline.

We arrived on spec today after a fairly patchy tea shop experience during our week in Norfolk. The lack of a loo sent 2 of our party elsewhere for 10 minutes (lovely loos in the library) but this is the only fault in a faultless tea shop. Often the coffee is poor (here it was very good). Sometimes the scones are old (these were fresh, crumbly on the outside, moist in the inside, and warm). Cakes are often a disappointment (the strawberry and vanilla looked wonderful and my daughter loved it, but wouldn't share). The tea was good, served in a quirky owl teapot. We could have stayed for hours and gone round the menu several times. We loved the fresh strawberries in the tiny jam pot, the clotted cream ( no cheap whipped or squirty cream here) and the staff - so friendly and helpful.

We only discovered this place on the last day of our holiday. Such a shame as we would have visited daily if we has found it earlier. A real credit to the county, and the lovely town. The rest of Norfolk could learn a lot in terms of service, ingredients, staff and quality from this place. Wonderful!

Called in late afternoon for some refreshment and was so glad we chose this place. As the name suggests the interior is themed on Alice in Wonderland and has a definite charm to it. We ordered a pot of tea for two and friut scones with jam. Tea served in a large pot covered by themed cosy really was a blast from the past and for certain the scones were home made and delicious but I was convinced the strawberry jam too was home made and equally tasty.
