Just returned from a long weekend staying here and we were treated superbly! Our room was quite small but perfect for just the two of us and for two nights as the bed was very comfortable! The breakfast was included with our room and was delicious! The cooked breakfast and toast was lovely and they even catered for my gluten free diet. We also had afternoon tea for which they specially ordered in gluten free cakes for me; we couldn't have asked for more! Thank you very much for a delightful stay, hopefully we'll be back when the fitness centre is finished!

Stayed here over night on the 8th feb having booked an executive room / suite during early January. Plenty of notice period for our booking. We were visiting family in the area over the weekend and needed somewhere to stay as a base. We weren't going to use all of the hotel facilities but wanted somewhere nice to retreat at the end of the day, and start the next day relaxed. Hence, booking a spacious and comfortable suite.

We arrived to check in at 3pm and were greeted with smiles and politeness, perfect ! There was clearly a wedding going on, not a problem we thought as we would be in and out the hotel anyway. However, we were told by the receptionist that the hotel had decided that due to the wedding, and the subsequent noise in the bar later that evening, we had been moved to a cheaper room out in the courtyard. We were also told that the bar and lounge area would be 'out of bounds' to non wedding guests that evening.

Having explained our displeasure at the hotels decision to clearly give our room to one of the wedding guests, as well as explaining how a hotel without a bar or seating area for guest use seemed a little silly and explain that a simple phone call would have been courteous, a manager, Julie intervened. Julie sorted a few reductions and 'on the house' drinks to appease the situation, but still.....!

Message to the Owners........if you want to get 4 stars as you have responded previously, do not give rooms that people have booked to other guests. Your quest for wedding business is to be admired, but don't annoy your average paying punter, whilst you search for the immortal dollar!

Overall the hotel is ok, the breakfast was good and the standard rooms are clean, warm and functional. Trouble is our expectation was not met from the very start and it was difficult for the hotel to pick up from that point.

PS...gate crashed the wedding in the evening and used the bar anyway.

Myself and partner enjoyed my birthday weekend treat at Brome after having a lovely time for our anniversary last year. I emailed Julie who once again arranged for us to have a smashing time. On arrival we were warmly welcomed by Jonathan who showed us to the honeymoon suite which had lasting fab memories for us from last year.(Big thanks Julie) Four poster bed with two cute towel swans and plates of chocolates greeted us, and the always impressive huge jacuzzi bath that takes half an hour to fill! Bliss. After unpacking we went to enjoy our afternoon tea with glass of fizz. Sandwiches and yummy home made cakes plus scones made for a perfect afternoon feast. After the rest of the afternoon enjoying a soak in the jacuzzi we returned to the restaurant to enjoy our three course meal and bottle of wine. This time we were warmly greeted by another Jonathan ( it's a very popular name here at the Brome) and he took care of all our needs for the evening, and was friendly and helpful. It was a smashing surprise to see Julie once again, and she had very thoughtfully left a card and yummy choccie egg on our table as a birthday thought from the hotel. Myself and partner enjoyed pate starters and melt in the mouth steak mains. Sticky banoffi pie to finish, all cooked well, nicely presented and good portions. After a good peaceful nights sleep we enjoyed full English breakfast from a good choice offered. The extra bonus this year is treats offered during the night at reception area (should you get an attack of the munchies)with an
honesty box. A very clever idea and shows how much the hotel cares about its guests.
All told we had another lovely stay at Brome, and a big thanks go to all the team and especially lovely Julie, Jonathan at reception and Jonathan who did a fine job in the evening. Thank you all.

Stayed here for a weekend after receiving BW vouchers for Xmas and was not disappointed...Friendly service...good food and a tidy and comfortable room in the courtyard makes it seem almost continental...erm without the continental weather...took advantage of an inexpensive room service menu more than once and found the breakfasts to be excellent. A great spot from which to explore the stunningly unique Suffolk coast from Southwold to Aldeburgh.
Overall most impressed, especially in terms of value for money, and definitely worth a visit for anyone staying in this neck of the woods.

Our Christmas present from my parents was a Groupon voucher for a 2 nights stay at the Brome Grange Hotel. We were Best Western virgins so we didn't really know what to expect.
What really stood out, aside from the gorgeous room, the beautiful country style decor and the faultless food, was the staff. If they weren't genuinely happy to make us feel welcome then they are terrific actors. We felt like we could ask them anything and they were so happy to help.
The gentleman serving us behind the bar (I think his name was Jonathan on his badge) on our first afternoon there had lovely conversation with us which really does make a difference to how you feel when staying somewhere new (we had never been to the area before either).
Also the lady on reception, I am sorry to have not noted her name, was extremely helpful and very friendly. (She even went out of her way to find me a deck of cards because I mentioned in passing that I couldn't find anywhere to buy them in Diss town - which I left in the room when we left)

We really didn't want to go home, 2 nights was not enough, and you will certainly be seeing us again on a regular basis.

Thankyou very much Brome Grange Hotel x

I took my partner for a meal at Brome Grange for his birthday as we are getting married there in July this year, so good excuse to try it out as we haven't been there to eat before. Food was excellent and so was the service, would highly recommend and can't wait to get married there and a big Thankyou to Sarah who has been so helpful with our wedding plans.

We booked the Christmas package. I am so glad my husband persuaded me to have a lazy Christmas. We had booked a disabled room, due to the fact that our disabled daughter, was going to be with us. Upon arrival we were offered a family room as it was larger than the disabled room usually accommodates two people, and we were a party of three. Lovely room, warm and clean. A welcome arrangement of fresh fruit was on the dressing table , very impressed.
Three packages gift wrapped really nicely wrapped, one for each member of the family, ready for Christmas morning, how thoughtful.
When we went for our evening meal, every one was so helpful, and it was wonderful to order a drink and sit by the open log fire, what a rare treat, and a very enjoyable dinner.
Breakfast, we declined the offer of a full English, as we were going to look forward to our Christmas lunch, that was being served in the barn at 1 o'clock. what a grand affair. A very enjoyable five course meal. Our meal was hot and plentiful. and very attentive staff.who made it a very nice day and always had a smile, even when they had to work Christmas day. In
the evening we joined all the residents in the bar for drinks, and plentiful cold cuts, evening meal, very enjoyable, with Naomi who hosted a quiz evening.
Boxing day, after breakfast, a coach trip was arranged for a few hours, to Bury St Edmonds.
Upon returning back at the hotel for mulled wine and mince pies.
A charity Gala Dinner was to be the treat of the evening. A chance to get out your glad rags for a good cause with a very enjoyable three course dinner and disco afterwards. Lovely evening.
Sadly the next morning after another breakfast, it was time for us to say good bye and return home. This was our first Christmas away from family and home after 46 years of marriage, a hard decision to make, all I can say is roll on next year, when who knows what it may bring. And a big thanks to every one at THE BROME GRANGE. WELL DONE everyone.
Oh not forgetting the kind gift of chocolates for our homeward journey.
