We visit the FBI often and have never been disappointed. Lovely walk along the seafront gets you to the hamlet of The Ferry and the FBI is a welcome stop for a drink and something to eat. There is a good selection of real ales and the menu is good pub grub. Love the fish and chips. The staff are attentive and friendly and the food is cooked well.

4 of us arrived 5 minutes before the 2 pm kitchen cut off time. We were just looking for a drink and a snack, so went for 2 Ploughmans and one portion of chips with 1 pint, one half pint, one lemonade and one apple juice. £34 and change, sounded a bit pricey but we were there then. Sat outside with drinks, food arrived. Very fatty and gristley ham, the cheapest most tasteless cheese possible, barely browned warm baguette. Salad etc OK, but that is quite difficult to get wrong. We expressed our feelings to the waitress who seemed quite surprised by this and said we were the only ones to complain. Won't be going back...

Beautiful food. Always popular. A nice walk along the river. Then an ice cream before catching the ferry back across the river. A lovely day out

We stopped in here on a Sunday afternoon during an afternoon visit to Felixstowe. The pub was very busy and we opted for outside dining. Service was good and our Roast Beef lunch arrived & the food was very tasty and a nice plate full was presented, unfortunately it seems there had been a mix up with our table number and the waitress was unsure if she was in the right place when serving our food. I think she had been walking around looking for us for a while as the food wasn't particularly hot. I'm always happy when the vegetables are slightly under cooked and crunchy but I can honestly say I think the leeks and carrots had just been "shown" the boiling water as it was like munching on raw veg. A little disappointing but would give it a second chance when maybe not so busy.

Looking for a little trip out or maybe a spot of lunch and a walk along the beach? Well, The Ferry Boat Inn is a must that is on my top ten list. Far enough away from the madding crowds of Felixstowe seafront, amusement rides and screaming families, you'll find that old Felixstowe a bit more relaxing. Drive through the golf course (not literally, but you know what I mean) and you'll find what the locals call the FBI (The Ferry Boat Inn) just slightly tucked back from the road and across the village green.
Although there is some parking outside the pub there is a small car park just a bit further on, but I'm not sure if it's free or not.
They have a great selection of beers and their food is amazing, and although the staff are clearly busy especially on the weekends, they are always happy to serve and help you out. You can always gauge a pub by its Sunday Roast and the Ferry Boats is very good indeed, their menu has a good selection without going over the top so kudos to the hard-working kitchen staff.
There is plenty of outside seating along the front of the pub which is undercover and the beer garden at the side allows more al fresco dining. It's a great spot to watch the world go by, rain or shine, winter or summer. The Ferry Boat Inn is always on my list when we are in the Felixstowe area, we highly recommend it!
