We have been coming to this camp site for 8 years, although we have had some great times I think that this may be our last time.
The idea of taking your children camping is supposed to be a fun experience, unfortunately the rules and the strictness of these rules has taken the fun out of staying.

We have just returned from a weekend there and the moment we arrived we had the site warden come over to moan about the speed our friends drove in at. They were doing 10mph but we understand the limit is 5mph, so they apologised. However it was not the fact that we had been approached by the warden but it was his rude and bordering aggressive manner which was not welcomed.

Later that afternoon my 9 year old daughter walked the short distance to the toilet by herself and again the site warden moaned at her to say she is not allowed to go to the toilets by herself, which made her upset.

Later the same evening we had a BBQ and a couple of drinks and at exactly 9.45pm the warden came over and said the children we making too much noise. He then went on to say that we must put our BBQ out as they do not allow open fires!! Open fires….it’s a raised off the ground BBQ. We tried to explain that we were just finishing off the BBQ and he very abruptly replied, “I’m not here to argue or leave!!”

So all of this combined with lots of rules including no ball games rules, various codes to remember and the rudeness of the site warden has meant that we (and our friends) will not be returning.

Camping is supposed to be a fun out door family activity – but sadly not here anymore!!

Camp had good size pitch with very good hook up and water.
Toilet block only accessable with 6 digit code but clean once in.also another code just to wash up. Poor supply in shop only frozen bread and very little else.
No facilities for children and no ball games of any kind allowed. So not children friendly.
Total silence after 10 pm was just one of many rules of the camp.
Found very unfriendly and would not return.

Thank you for your review, it's a shame you didn't feel able to make your comments in person while you stayed here.

With regards to rules, we are a family holiday park and we have rules in place to ensure all guests have an enjoyable stay, our rules are not strictly policed but are based as a guide for people staying here.

There are no ball games on the campsite as balls, footballs and cricket balls have caused damage to caravans, and motorhomes in the past. We are right next to the beach and encourage children and adults to play cricket or football down on the grassy foreshore (this is the perfect location to play ball games).

The codes on the entrance doors to the toilet block are for guest security as we are located next to the beach, these codes stop people walking from the beach and using the facilities who are not staying on the park.

We don't have a shop and don't advertise that we do, we sell basic provisions from the bar/reception as a added service but we would not consider this to be called a shop.

I am sorry you found your stay so bad it's a real shame as the majority of our guest love our location and the fact that we are a family friendly, quiet and relaxing place to stay.

We have just spent a 3 night break here, what a lovely clean, laid back and quiet site, with friendly regular customers, so it worries me writing this review in that this little gem may get inundated with larger, noisy units and families.

Cannot get closer to a beach, despite it's proximity to the power station, a lovely long dog friendly beach, and not to far to make Aldeburgh or Thorpeness on the Suffolk Coastal Path

Excellent showers and facilities, and a lovely bar on site, great pint of beer, coffee and huge slice of cake on a lovely terrace with wonderful sea views

Looking forward to our next visit
