We have been many times now but with the flood we were a little worried for them, however Theresa and Gary have come back fighting and the food is now almost better if that is possible! Local meat and produce mostly grown on site with a lovely cosy atmosphere. They have worked very hard and transformed the pub. The new bar is superb and the rooms are lovely. Highly recommended. We have even purchased some of their lovely photographs.

Stopped off at this pub on the way home from The Swan,Southwold, had a good lunch, John, Lily, Cameron and Alfie, these being husband, grandchildren and English setter dog. We were all made very welcome, we ate in the bar with Alf. He loved it as he was fussed over. Cameron loved the chocolate sorbet, dark and a bit bitter, better than ice cream, home made. a pleasant experience.
The whole place was super clean and fresh. Found out when we got home and looked the place up, they were flooded December 2013, and only reopened the day we visited.

We saw this pub on anglia news following its re-opening after being flooded during the winter storms. The owners have worked hard to get their business going again and there are several photos on the walls of how bad the flooding was.
It looks like their efforts are paying off. The pub was fairly busy for a Friday lunch with several tables reserved. I would definitely recommend booking in the evenings and weekends.
This is an excellent family run pub that uses local produce on a reasonably priced menu. The food is of a very good quality and there is a good choice of beers and wines.
The service is excellent. We would definitely return.

I have had lunch at this pub several times and the food is always good and interesting. The menu is changed regularly, staff and management are friendly and helpful. The bar is festooned wth prize rosettes won by the owners' very special pigs.
I am writing this now because the Crown apparently suffered badly in last weeks' floods, losing 28 turkeys, presumably waiting for Christmas, though other livestock was saved and the village rallied round to help. But there were other losses and the bar and kitchen were under water, so once they are under way again this pub will need your help.

We met with friends for lunch here on a Saturday and had a most delicious lunch. The pub is rustic inside and friendly and was fairly buzzing with people, it was warm and friendly. The staff were also friendly. I had a light lunch of pigeon breast with black pudding and lentils which was very tasty, and others had fish and chips and sausages which are made on site. Everyone enjoyed their lunch and felt well satisfied afterwards.

We were returning to Norfolk after filming in Rendlesham Forest about the ufo landing years ago and it was lunchtime. Snape Maltings was very busy so we carried on a bit further and visited the Crown. A nice welcome from the 2 ladies working at the bar. Drinks were swiftly served. We ordered food which for me was the fish and chips with crushed minted peas and home made tatare sauce. It was delicious. My wife had the sausages with mash and gravy. She rated it highly. Two desserts followed and tea and coffee. We liked the pub and would return.

My partner and I had a meal here before attending a concert at the Snape Proms. The atmosphere in the bar was great and the staff were friendly and efficient. The food was delicious, and good value, and we would recommend this pub as a first class choice for food, especially if attending a concert later in the evening.
