Owner description: If one picture on a postcard could sum up an idyllic English Seaside destination it would have to be Southwold Pier. Decked out across the sea in the picturesque coastal town of Southwold, this pillared walkway has a magnetic attraction and something for everyone to enjoy! There's so much to do a whole day can drift by while you walk the planks and explore this historic icon. Please note: Our opening times are weather permitting and therefore can change.

This pier has it all - a nice restaurant/cafe to while away the time over a coffee and cake; views of the Suffolk coast to die for; a fun "Crazy Mirror" walk; a good if slightly expensive gift shop; an arcade with good historic machines and most importantly a sense that you have visited somewhere historic.

And of course after your visit, it's a stroll into the town to sample Adnams ales!

A pleasant way to watch the sea crashing into the shore drinking Aspall's Suffolk Cider, and eating Rocky Road from the tea shop on the pier. The windbreaks were effective.

Although we only had the soup of the day, which was excellent and a cup of tea, the food I saw served to others looked very good. One can sit in or outside on the Pier and watch the waves while you wait for your order to be served.

The pier is a top place to visit when in Southwold, it has your normal seaside arcades, restaurants, a café, shops and some extra special bits you won't find anywhere else. There is an "under the pier show" room which is full of whacky and fun games. There is an amazing clock sculpture that performs interesting actions every hour. You also get a great view of Southwold from the pier, worth a walk to the end just to take a photo of the iconic coastline.

The pier itself provided lots of entertainment, lots of little things too look at and the wacky mirror walk was excellent!
