We visited the boat lake and tea shop, which was a real treat - we enjoyed an afternoon cup of tea and wonderful freshly made carrot cake, delicious,.We returned the next day for a morning coffee, and we were greeted by the duck and her ducklings, the owners have made this place a haven for bird life - and have noted the names of all the birds spotted on the lake.
Great location with wonderful views, friendly service, well worth a visit if you're in Southwold.

Read previous reviews about this this tea room on here, and it was truely a great little place to visit in southwold.

Had afternoon tea, which came with sandwiches,a scone& pot of tea! The fruit scone was the best ive ever had, full of fruit and so light!

It was in beautiful surroundings of a lake, very picturesque!!

Good choice of menu, ranging from sandwiches, sausage rolls, scones, cream teas, jacket potatoes.

Will definately be returning!

Good Wheelchair access.

Just note there are no toilets onsite( just a short walk across the road) and no chip& pin facilities, ( cash point nearby in the arcade!)

Highly recommend this little gem in southwold.

A delightful location with a delightful view, the tea was reasonably priced. I quite liked the mismatched crockery, but my uncouth side would have preferred a mug.

This is a wonderful, friendly tearoom and boating lake close to the Pier in Southwold. Easy walking distance from anywhere in Southwold. The cakes are to die for!! What many people don't know is that they also rent out wheelchairs and mobility scooters. Ideally phone ahead to make your reservation. We had fabulous warm, efficient service from Penny, Nicky, David and team. They can't do enough to help you and they never stop smiling! This place is very Southwold - bunting, vintage china and lots of blue and white ticking. We liked the characterful attention to detail: floral table decorations in teapots, order numbers issued with little playing cards, soft blankets and comfortable cushions on the outside seats, even the upturned boat skeleton with a table at the side of the boating lake.

It's a lovely, tranquil spot for a cuppa. The only thing I'd say is that if the cafe is making the effort to serve full afternoon teas so prettily, it would be really nice if they could offer looseleaf instead of teabags, which can make tea rather weak and not very easy to stretch. Also, the service was a bit slow - but these are niggling deficiencies in an otherwise charming venue.
