exciting but the stairs are scary, The views from the top are exceptional, well worth a visit, just brave the stairs, they are ok.

An essential visit for anyone staying or visiting Southwold. After a brief wait, we ascended the 92 steps to meet the friendly and informative guide, then up a further set of steps to the view! On a stormy day it was still worth it. Just ensure you wear the correct footwear and check the website for opening times.

Worth a visit if you can face the stairs. Had a little wait as it was busy but was worth it for the view at the very top. The last part of the climb is up a ladder so not everyone will make it but if you can do it then go for it.

The lighthouse has limited opening hours but is well worth a visit. Lovely friendly and informative tour guide and amazing views across the town and out to sea. Be aware that health and safety is quite strict (with good reason!) and you need closed back shoes, no flip flops.
The tour involves climbing the the spiral stairs, seeing the service room and ascending a short ladder to the very top where you can see across the town from the lighting area. The only other thing to be aware of is that the tours run at half hourly intervals and only a limited number of people can go on each due to the space restrictions at the top so you need to plan accordingly as you cant book.
