This was our first visit to the Blyth Hotel. The hotel is well-situated and within 8-10 minutes walk of the beach and pier. The hotel was warm, clean and we found the staff to be friendly. The overall customer-care experience at the Blyth Hotel was average. The breakfast was satisfactory and on a level found at a Travel Lodge or similar establishment.

Our accommodation (Room 4 - a standard double room) was tiny and was probably the smallest double-room we have experienced - at £115 a night it was clearly over-priced and had we been advised of the dimensions at the time of making the reservation we would not have booked. We would also recommend checking all third-party booking options (i.e. laterooms.com) before making a reservation at the hotel - unfortunately to our cost we have since found the room could have been booked for £95 per night.

We wish the Blyth Hotel well going forward; clearly TA customer feedback suggests it has some very loyal and satisfied customers.

Room Tip: Avoid Room 4

We needed a relaxing place to stay and we got one! The staff were all very helpful, the room (9) was spacious, the breakfast was great and we will definitely go back. It is ideally situated, close to the town and the pier.

The hotel is convenient for the beach, town and countryside with good parking too. We were made to feel welcome right from the start, Richard, our host, was genial and couldn't have been more helpful; he explained a little about the town and even let us sample the local beers! Our room (No. 6) was delightful and has a balcony to enjoy the evening sun and watch the world go by. The menu had a good choice and the food was good too; the Chef clearly knows his business. Nice friendly bar with the staff and locals making an entertaining couple of hours before dinner; telling us tales about the locality and the best places to see.

Room Tip: Room 6 is on the first floor and has a balcony.

Stayed for three nights in the above hotel. Very accommodating, dead easy to find as it's as you come into Southwold itself. Plenty of free car parking too. We stayed room 8, good sized room, note no bath but a good shower. Good team of staff, Debbie is particular as she was like the tourist information for the area, but only if you asked. Pointed us to a few good walks and different routes to approach different towns and villages, she is a real credit to the hotel. Food, breakfasts superb and varied, try the smoked mackerel, poached egg and wilted spinach, superb. Upped our booking to DB&B as we were comfortable where we were. Ten mins walk from the sea front. A definite little find. Thank you to all as we enjoyed our stay very much.

Room Tip: If you are not good with stairs mention this when booking as we were on the second floor. No big deal for us but could be for someone else. Also no bath in room 8 but a good shower.

Stayed in the southwold room, gorgeous room, lovely spa bath. Dinner bed and breakfast package was a bargain, although they did bring out a better deal after id booked mine, a little annoying.
Spa bath was a great addition, but it had a slight fault and it would spontaniously start up by itself, so we had to turn it off at the plug. But no big deal.
Food was amazing, very impressed!!
Great location, gorgeous room, great food, good price, what more can you ask for?
