This is the second time we've stayed here, and we'll be returning many times more, I hope. Both times, we've paid a bit more for a king-size room, and it's still been good value for money. The breakfasts are very good quality, and the restaurant food is excellent, with a good choice of beautifully cooked and presented meals - really useful if you've had a tiring day and can't face going out again for dinner. It's testament to the quality of the restaurant that the place is packed in the evening, so best to book a table in advance. Staff are unfailingly welcoming, friendly and helpful. The beds are very comfortable, there's a well-stocked tea tray, and the rooms we've been in have been clean and spacious. There was a bit of noise during our latest stay, from people leaving the place late at night, and the band that was playing for a Friday-night function could clearly be heard in our room on the top floor, but they finished at 11.30pm so not too much of a problem. We went to The Blyth, nearby, one night (not a very exciting menu), where there were only two other tables taken - back at the Randolph, the place was buzzing with every seat occupied. The owners deserve their success.
