“Another fantastic stay at Amber House”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 October 2013

We have just spent another 3 nights at Amber House meeting up with family , and felt at home as soon as we walked in the door to a very warm welcome back . Di is a fantastic host with help from Lou her daughter. Big breakfasts and lovely clean rooms some. with sea views. Just a short walk into town or to the pier We will certainly visit again next year

Room Tip: Try to book the big room at the front with sea rooms

My wife and I have been to Southwold once before this last weekender away and both times we've stayed at Amber House and both times we have not been disappointed.

We arrived early on the Saturday and, out of courtesy, we stuck our heads in to let them know we were in town and would be back to sort out our room. Not a chance, we were led straight in and given a choice of rooms and chose a sea-view one, given the keys and told to come back whenever we wanted.

For those who've never used Amber House I can tell you it is an experience.
The family are friendly, full of information, chatty and the house (spread over 3 floors) is a treasure trove of interesting items and pictures.

Breakfast consists of coffee/tea, orange juice, cereal and/or a Full English and lots of toast (white, brown or a mixture).

Can't say when we'll be back in Southwold but when we do return then Amber House will be the 'go-to' choice for a B&B.

Room Tip: If you can try to get the big room on the 2nd floor at the front. However Room 3, on the top floor...

My wife and I just returned from a lovely long weekend in Southwold.

We had been unable to find anywhere to stay but Di the owner kindly called me to say that she had a cancellation.

Di is a lovely helpful lady who is also great fun which made us feel very welcome.

The B and B is spotless and and you couldn't wish for a better location.

We were made to feel very comfortable and will definitely look to stay with Di again.

Very happy to heartily recommend Amber House.

Room Tip: The view is great so if you can book a sea facing room all the better. Nothing wrong with the rooms...

Took my mum to Southwold for a combined business meeting (me) and social visit (her). Everyone very helpful - much appreciated. Southwold is a lovely place and Amber House added to a very pleasant first trip for mum and looked forward to return for me.

Room Tip: Sea view is fabulous

We stayed 14/15 June 2013 and were hoping Amber House would live up to our expectations; it did more - it went beyond them. The room was tip-top, the views were unbeatable and Di and her daughter, Lou, just finished it off - they are a hoot. Everything in Southwold is within walking distance; you don't have to carry everything, you can pop back during the day for something you forgot or didn't think you would need. We will visit Southwold again and would not dream of even looking elsewhere to stay.

We had 3 nights here and enjoyed its position on sea front. The owner Di was a lovely chatty welcoming lady and our room was lovely and clean and fresh but it was a small double we had but honestly it was big enough for the time spent in it.
Breakfast was wonderful and we did not have to wait for it and it was well cooked and sausage was a real sausage thick bacon fresh eggs with an orange yolk yummy ...... Cereals were on offer and yoghurts. Tea coffee etc. Di's daughter was helping out at breakfast as usual lady was on holiday and made breakfast fun with her lively cheery talk and couldn't do enough for us. Would of liked longer there. Southwold is a lovely little place as we're nearby places and the sun shone for us.
