We stayed here for two nights this week with our dog. We camped and had a fab time. The facilities were good and the location perfect. it was easy to book and reasonably priced. We will definitely come back!

Great location, and our stay was quiet!
The pitch set up was ridiculous and not very clear, we asked a member of staff for help who was happy to assist although he did make references to awkward campers( I whistled to get his attention as he was a distance from us and when my wife approached him he said I’m not a dog!!)
The site is tired and the facilities could be greatly improved, the cleanliness of the men’s toilet block was not the best and was very smelly.
Very overpriced but I guess everyone wants to camp here so they will always be busy, we love Southwold and visit regular but this was a first at this site, I doubt we will return as the price structure is crazy and the amenities need vastly improving, general cleanliness does not exist here, the roads in and out are nothing more than rough stone.

Positive - Great location nestled between the beach and the river. Two pubs, a fish and chips takeaway, ice cream kiosk and seafood restaurant within 10 minute walk- be aware opening hours are varied, with some only opening lunch times. Quiet site with no lighting which we loved as it was quiet from sundown. Negatives - ground is very rough, and not well maintained, both around the statics and on the camp site. Toilet and shower blocks are very basic and not well maintained - mirrors missing, ceiling tiles missing, taps not working and not cleaned frequently enough. The campsite was maybe 40% occupied and still not clean. The charging system is ridiculous - extra charges for awnings, gazebos, children (!) and freezing ice blocks. Due to location they will continue to be successful and we are likely to return but it is a shame that they can't run it more professionally.

The best thing about this site is its location. Lovely walk into Southwold, very. accessible for the harbour and a short ferry trip over to Walberswick. Some nice bars and eating places within walking distance too. The facilities were adequate but quite basic - as it was the beginning of the season there was a lot of work going on to update/ improve facilities so some areas were out of use.

We camped here with friends, during the heatwave of July 2018. It was a very happy stay. The campsite is wonderfully located, a few hundred yards from the beach, and a short walk from Southwold. Our pitch had beautiful views of Southwold - a picture of the light house and the church tower viewed across the fields is etched into my memory.

The atmosphere on the campsite is informal and friendly. It was full and yet we had no trouble whatsoever with noise or overcrowding - just lots of pleasant interactions with out fellow campers. The staff were very helpful and approachable.

The only reason I have not given 5 stars is that the loos / showers are not especially salubrious. They are fine - functional and I never had to cue for a shower. But they could be cleaner.

Overall, I highly recommend this campsite - it is a pleasant place to camp, and very well located to explore the delightful county of Suffolk.

Room tip: Pick a pitch with views of Southwold
