My partner and I stopped off in Battle on our way home for a meal. My partner ordered the roast beef and I had the mixed grill. My partner's beef was so tough, she could not cut it with the knife, so I aked for a steak knife. This did the trick, but the beef was so tough and chewy that she could not eat it, and had to leave it on her plate. The steak on my mixed grill was the same and I couldn't eat it either. We informed the manager and his response was; 'we've been serving dinners all day'. I remarked that, unfortunately, they had got it wrong on this occassion. His reply was; 'No'. He did, begrudgingly, give us a £5 refund. I think the manager should consider enroling for a 'customer service': When a service supplyer gets it wrong, they should blame themselves - not the customer. On a more positive note: his staff were lovely and very friendly.
