“A definate must!!”
Reviewed 17 July 2013

Having decided on a whim to travel to Battle for the music festival following the carnival, we booked ourselves into The Bull once there. Kerri was warm and friendly, showing us the room before we made up our mind. We found the room clean and comfortable. The linen was excellent and the night's sleep fantastic. We had a great time at the music festival and chatted with the friendly locals back at the pub afterwards. The breakfast the following morning was superb, and plentiful - and no burnt eggs in sight. Would definately book again without hesitation.

We have been to the Bull a couple of times, the girls are always very friendly, the food is not your typical pub grub, what we've had is well cooked and put together, the burger is not for the faint hearted Amazing!!!.
Go visit next time your in the area you wont be disapointed.

Stayed for one night over the may bank holiday. On arrival the welcome was not the warmest but this was the only low point and the welcome from other staff increased greatly as our stay went on. We stayed in a very pleasant, modern and exceptionally clean Room 5. The sleep was comfortable and the shower worked well. We didn't eat in the evening but the breakfast was exceptional. High quality full English with grilled smoked bacon and excellent sausages were only a part of a very tasty beginning to the day. A very nice stay for the price range. I would just warm up the initial welcome and perhaps offer a savoury breakfast cereal. Worth a visit in this lovely part of the world.

Room Tip: Room 5 has been obviously upgraded recently.

A welcome greeting, a plain but clean room. Very popular pub where we enjoyed a lovely meal.
The landlord was a mine of local information.
Despite being at the front of the pub we had a good sleep in a comfortable bed and a great visit to the abbey.

Found the Bull inn in late afternoon our 2nd day in our tour of the UK. After a quick enquiry at the bar & an inspection we paid up front for a well travelled but agreeable room at a great price. The only minor gripe was the TV was a bit small but the bed was comfortable and the room clean. Dinner at an Italian restaurant was just up the road and access to the Hasting Abbey grounds is a short walk away. Breakfast was one of the best we had while travelling the UK and all staff were lovely & approachable. Thank you to the Bull inn for a wonderful short stay.

It was the third time we have stopped at the Bull Inn at Battle - we keep coming back. The owners and staff are friendly, there is fun entertainment on a Friday and Saturday night in the form of karaoke and live music (typically a good local rock band), a comfortable bed to sleep in followed by a delicious breakfast the following morning.
Be warned though, don't go to bed early on these nights and expect to sleep straight away, the sound of music and chatter from the bar can be heard loud and clear from the bedrooms above - we usually stay downstairs until the music finishes before considering sleep. I'd go as far as to say The Bull Inn is life and soul of Battle if you want a good night out with minimal trouble or fuss.

Room Tip: If staying on a Friday or Saturday, a room away from the bar underneath is advisable if you want an...

A lovely warm and efficient welcome was a great start when we checked in recently. We were shown to our bright, clean and fresh room and then enjoyed the delights of Battle until we returned later that night.

Breakfast was gorgeous and we met the Host, the Chef and Bob the Beard who keeps the bar spic and span.

What a friendly and hardworking bunch!

Room Tip: Choose a room at the back to avoid street noise.
