“Beautiful Place..... shame about the rooms :(”
Reviewed 27 August 2012

Recently stayed here for a wedding and the venue, staff and food were fantastic, which is why it was a shame that little things let it down a bit. We were told the rooms would be available from 2pm, which was ok as the wedding was at 3pm. Unfortunately some of the rooms had not been cleaned from the previous guests and this resulted in a number of guests hurriedly getting changed in our room as we had fortunately stayed the night before. (Brides room ready & no problems there at all), Two of the rooms were subsequently 'cleaned' in 20 minutes, although dirty towels were left in one and neither of the rooms had been vacuumed, The stairway was also left very messy. We booked an additional room at short notice and were given the last available, a twin (No 5). this room is small, smelly from the kitchen and you have to have the curtains shut as it is opposite a corridor, however there was no hesitation by management in changing the next night to a nice room.

It was the general cleanliness that let it down, rooms not cleaned properly, toilets mucky, not cleaned around the loo, dusty shelves and sticky tables. And when we came down for breakfast both mornings, the place was a mess, with no attempt to clean up from the previous night. As i say, it was the little bits & pieces, because the staff were brilliant and very attentive, If these little issues were addressed, this hotel would easily attract a higher rating as I mentioned before the food, staff and location make for a superb wedding venue and all involved made the day such a brilliant wedding day for the bride & groom.

Room Tip: Not Room 5! Room 14 lovely as were 3 & 4

Thirty of us from a local Womens Institute had lunch here today. The food was delicious and the organisation and service were faultless. The surroundings are pretty and peaceful. All in all it was a really pleasant and relaxed meal.

Myself and my now husband recently got married at Leeford Place. We had the most wonderful day and we cannot thank Steve and his staff enough for all they did for us. When it came to organising a wedding, I was a bit rubbish. Steve and the staff were so patient and helpful, even managing to organise a DJ for us three days before our wedding day. All of our guest's commented on the quality of the food and Steve was even able to accomodate for some unexpected guests on the actual day which helped turn a potentially stressful situation into an easily managed one. We hired Karen Austin for our decorations.........the place looked absolutely stunning!!! Everyone I spoke to commented on how beautiful and tastfully it had been done and karen was so accomodating to our needs, cannot recommend her enough. Such a lovely lady!! Overall, the experience of getting married at Leeford Place Hotel was just magical and I cant thank Steve and his staff, and Karen, enough for all they did for us.

We have just stayed here for a wedding and found it to be the perfect quiet setting in the middle of the country.

We were in room 4 overlooking the front gardens so had a lovely view. The room itself was a good size and clean. The furniture was definitely antique but it didn't really matter if the wardrobe doors didn't want to shut. Ensuite was functional but with very poor lighting. Shaving by feel isn't really satisfactory.

The wedding itself was very well done. A real credit to all the staff who all worked very hard.
The quality of the food was excellent.

We thoroughly enjoyed it.

Me and my wife got married here on 3rd August 2012, and had a superb day. Everything went according to plan, which Steve and his staff played their part in helping make such a great day. Steve was also incredibly helpful with all my queries leading up to the wedding and on the day itself.
The food we had for the wedding was superb. And considering there was 66 people to feed at the wedding the service was brilliant. And the head waitress made sure everything was ok, which it was.
Karen Austin, who provided all the decorations for the ceremony room and the reception room, did an amazing job, and everyone commented on how amazing all the rooms looked.
We had great weather and it meant we could make full use of the beautiful gardens both at the front and back of the hotel, and I'm sure we'll have some great photos from the day.
We filled all 18 rooms, with all our friends and family commenting on how nice their rooms were. The bridal suite is stunning, and just put the icing on the cake for such a special day.
They even had a wedding the next day, but at no point did we feel rushed to leave despite people arriving for the next wedding whilst we were still there at 10am.
Thoroughly recommend anyone to stay here, even if it wasn't a wedding. We'll certainly be going back to celebrate our anniversary! Thanks again to everyone involved in helping make our wedding so wonderful.
