“A lovely stay and a great host / owner!”
Reviewed 6 January 2017 for a stay in December 2016

We wanted somewhere comfortable, pet-friendly and close to Hastings and Rye, and this property was perfect. Claire (the owner) welcomed us and was extremely hospitable, leaving tea/coffee/sweets and providing a delicious breakfast each morning (it was optional). There is no sink so we didn't even have to wash up. The table top oven was perfect for heating up a casserole we brought with us for the first evening, but as we ate out in the local pub the other evenings, the fridge and kettle were all we needed.

Both bedrooms are double and en-suite, with comfortable beds. The cottage has a lovely outlook - over the garden at the back, and a view over the valley at the front. The sofa is perfect for relaxing on in front of the huge TV, and there is a wide range of books and DVDs to choose from. We had a relaxing few days and will definitely return. Thank you from all of us!

“A great place for a peaceful getaway!”
Reviewed 1 January 2017 for a stay in December 2016

A well-kept, beautifully packaged cottage in the heart of the Sussex countryside. Two lovely bedrooms, both with en suites, and a large living/dining area. Beautiful grounds, though the December fog and rain prevented us from making full use of them.

It's true that there are no real cooking facilities for a long stay, but for an overnight visit, there are plenty of takeaways nearby and the cottage has crockery and cutlery aplenty.

Breakfast is an optional extra, and who could say no to steaming pots of tea and coffee and a full English being delivered to your door by a warm and welcoming host?

Thoroughly recommend this as a venue for a short break, and cannot wait to visit again!

“Stunning!”
Reviewed 6 November 2016 for a stay in October 2016

We had a wonderful few days of total relaxation. Comfortable and spotless accommodation, spacious and warm with an amazing hostess. Claire was so good to us, nothing seemed to be too much trouble for her and she certainly knows how to serve up a brilliant breakfast.
We loved the huge garden and admired the punk bantams, the pigs were an extra special treat. It was enough for us to stay where we were and enjoy everything, but if you're feeling adventurous, there are many special places nearby to visit. Kipling's home 'Batemans' being the nearest, but so many others.
The lack of a kitchen didn't disturb me one whit! The little oven and hob being plenty for our holiday needs - and who doesn't appreciate having all their washing up done?
We are looking forward so much to our next visit! Thank you Claire.

“Nice house and view, lacks a kitchen”
Reviewed 30 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

We had a comfortable stay in this beautiful stable. We were surprised that there was no real kitchen. There is a oven with 2 hubs on top on a table in the livingroom. There is no running water there, but there is in the bedrooms. No possibility to do the dishes, but then again, it was done for us. There are chickens and pigs in the garden. Our babyboy loved to see those.
If you have no big cooking plans, it's a great place to stay.

“Exceptional!”
Reviewed 19 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

Stayed for 3 nights with my sister. We have stayed at many cottages but have to say this one surpassed the others, we had an en-suite each, very comfortable beds, superb settee & TV. Claire was wonderful & made us feel right at home without being intrusive. We hope to return!
