We have just spent a wonderful weekend in this cottage. A perfect setting, very peaceful, right by Ashdown Forest.
In bed in the mornings you could hear the stream trickling past. We ate breakfast on the decking by the stream, idyllic. The cottage has everything you require if you wish to cook but there are some lovely nearby pubs and restaurants so no need to bother.
And of course Jenny and Paul, such generous hosts. Some good advice given on local places to visit. We were made to feel really welcome and will certainly visit again.

“Ideal for a quiet romantic break”

My wife and I stayed here for one night to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We loved the property, which was behind the main house (Moss Cottage B&B)in a quiet and rural location , and was beautifully furnished in a quaint but contemporary rural style. A unique kind of space, being a converted outbuilding but with everything that two people could need for a comfortable stay. The owner, Jenny, made us very welcome and made sure that the kitchen was well stocked with breakfast items (in our case, vegetarian). The wifi worked, and there was a good DVD selection to choose from when we came back from our dinner at the pub up the road. The bed was comfortable and we had a good night's sleep. The location was great for exploring Ashdown Forest and we can recommend the walk just across the road up to Gill's Lap. We felt very comfortable and rested here and could have easily stayed longer. Excellent in all regards.

“Cosy rural home with lovely garden and great surroundings”
Reviewed 17 June 2016 for a stay in June 2016

Had an excellent stay in this luxury catered cute holiday home with very friendly and helpful hosts which made us feel at home. From the house one walks directly into the forest, much wildlife is to be seen. Nice country pub with excellent food in short distance. Sitting in the beautiful garden by the stream is a real treat! For colder days/evenings nice wood stove can be used and there's a good collection of DVD's with flatscreen TV. WiFi reception for mobile devices was problematic inside the house, but with our laptop it was fine. Comfortable beds. All in all very recommendable.

“Peaceful place”
Reviewed 4 April 2016 for a stay in March 2016

This place is amazing, a must visit if you love the countryside, rivers, log burners in the lounge, and getting away from the towns and cities.
Sitting from the dining table you can see the river, the trees and hear the birds - if you are fortunate you might spot a deer from this tranquil cottage.
There is so much to explore nearby from the woods to places in the national trust.
The owners were so helpful, kind and approachable. A very well furnished and decorated place to stay.

“Gorgeous country get away!”
Reviewed 27 February 2016 for a stay in February 2016

Still at the Piggery as I write this. We have had a lovely 24 hours relaxing in a gorgeous setting away from our hectic lives. Jenny is lovely and welcoming. The Piggery has everything you would need. It is well stocked...even a tin of dog food for an emergency. We will be backed to catch our breath soon.

“Everything you could possibly want from a relaxing get away in the country”
Reviewed 10 January 2016 for a stay in December 2015

We arrived on Christmas eve and left of the 27th
It is the 2nd time we have done this and it is just perfect!
The couple that run the piggery are so lovely, you get absolute privacy but at the same time you know they are close by should you need anything, it is a very warm welcome.
It is lovely and warm inside you can use the heater or the log fire there is even extra blankets and dressing gowns provided so there is no chance of being anything but cosy.
The bed is super comfortable with high quality bedding there were only 2 of us but it could sleep more if you converted the sofa.
Bare in mind the stairs going up to the bedroom are not suitable for everyone as there are no hand rails.
There is so much included, cupboards are stocked and there is alcohol which you can pay for at the end, we just brought our own. In terms of appliances there is everything you need I cooked up a roast as well as other dishes with ease.
Lovely shower with shampoo and gel if you forgot to bring that kind of stuff.
Best of all so many little homely touches - scented candles, large DVD collection, fresh flowers even a board game
There is also a lovely seated area by the river, again very private, despite being December we were determined to use it, so had coffee on the deck one morning. So relaxing.
Since it was our second visit we decided to get out and about, we had a delicious meal at the local pub less than a miles walk, went to the village to the village church and had a brilliant hike where we saw lots of dear, horses and rabbits.
I did go for a jog early one morning and being a city girl that level of seclusion was certainly a new experience

“Fabulous!”
Reviewed 6 October 2015 for a stay in September 2015

The Piggery is even better than it looks, and it looks amazing! I came to rest and relax with my sister. I bet we both looked five years younger when we left! Jenny and Paul were super hosts, very friendly and helpful but not at all intrusive. I hope to come back for a romantic visit with my husband.
