Batchelor’s Hall is late 17th, early 18th century house set in gardens and orchards of approximately 2/3rds of an acre. Sharon, the owner, is very accommodating and gracious. Living in her home is like stepping back in time for North Americans - living in such an old home with all sorts of nooks and crannies! You are really immersed in a rural setting; therefore, a car is necessary. The beds are good. The breakfasts are lovely and include Sharon's home made honey and jams. She is a font of information about where to go and what to do. You are about 1/2 hr from the Coast and the while cliffs are awesome - even in the fog. Historical sites are everywhere! Lewes is an amazing town to investigate. The pub down the road (about 1/2 mile) has great food and is friendly. This is a non smoking house - there is a cat who lives on the premises - she doesn’t smoke either. Payment by cash or sterling cheque only. Good value!
