We stopped at Dale Hill for 2 nights on a little trip around the south east of england in September. We found Dale Hill on the internet as we wished to visit Hever Castle and this seemed pretty close. We were very impressed with the hotel,it is a very modern hotel [so if you are looking for old and quaint dont bother] however the rooms were very large and airy with a massive queen size bed. The staff were very friendly and attentive and we felt very much at home.
The food, well what can I say, superb, The taste and presentation were absolutely excellent. It could not be faulted . The wine list was very reasonable with prices for all pockets. All in all a hotel we would definately visit again.

Simply the worst food I have ever had, this was supposed to be a nice society golf day but turned out to be a disaster.

The only problem I had with this hotel was the entrance. It’s on a country lane without any street lighting. So in the pitch black of evening it’s easy to miss their unilluminated sign. When I got through the drive I found they had a good sized car park. Check in was fine, thanks to a friendly receptionist.

The room was comfortable, warm, clean, and well furnished. Equally it had a clean bathroom, all fixtures and fittings in very good condition and looked fairly new. I liked that it had a separate shower as well as a bath.

They are to be congratulated on the TV facilities. So often hotels have a poor choice of channels or offer pay per view channels as a way of fleecing guests. Here you get about 15 channels and about four radio stations.

There was a good selection of consumables: not just tea and coffee and soap and shampoo, but extras like stationery, biscuits, moisturiser, shoe shine sponges and a sewing kit. These little treats are a sign of a hotel that cares about customers.

There is a restaurant and a bar at the hotel. The bar has pub food and real ale at standard British prices. The bar area was comfortable, more like a pub than a stuffy hotel bar, although it was very quiet on the Monday night.

There is a pool and a gym as well as the golf course. So there is plenty to do on a short stay, which is just as well because apart from a pub along the road there is nothing else nearby.

The high point was breakfast. A hotel cooked breakfast should be a treat, and this truly was. A very good selection of high quality breakfast items, cooked perfectly and well presented. Plus you get to enjoy it looking out over the picturesque golf course.

I was charged £80 for one night bed and breakfast, which is satisfactory for today’s prices. I would stay there again for a short break.

  • Liked — One of the best hotel brekfasts i have ever had!
  • Disliked — Shame it didn't have free wireless internet. Other hotels are starting to do this, they should do too.

Positive:
* very friendly staff at the reception
* prompt and friendly reaction via email during booking process
* nice and spacious rooms, the suite can be turned into a familiy room: one parent bedroom and the sofa in the second room is turned into a sofa bed
* the hotel is located in a beautiful environment
* casual and relaxed atmosphere although some dress rules apply
* nice view from the breakfast room/restaurant onto the 18th green
* we definitely would go back again

Remark.
* The two golf courses are beautiful, make sure that you do not miss the Woosnam course, pre-booking of a tee-time is recommended to get a preferred slot.

We stayed here very recently as all available roome in Tunbridge Wells were booked to the gills, and whilst I was concerned that our visit was not sport orientated I had no need to worry.

What a well run place this is, nice, happy and helpful staff, wonderful large room with all facilities, and an absoluteley marvelous restaurant witha chef who knows his business.

We had a meeting on the Saturday morning and availed ourselves of the terrace bar overlooking the 18th hole, the meeting took six hours, what does that tell you?

Jolly good breakfasts even though it was a buffet style one.

The management here need to start a hotel school, as there are so many countrywide that would benefit from their expertise.

Get there quick before it all changes.

I booked a golf trip for four arriving on Friday afternoon with golf on Friday and Saturday morning and dinner bed and breakfast included. It is not easy to find good quality golf courses and somewhere to stay that are not so busy the golf takes forever, you will not have this problem at Dale Hill. Both of the courses are in excellent condition with the Woosnam Course being a good challenge. The hotel is run by very helpful staff with excellent food served for both dinner and breakfast. All in all I would recommend Dale Hill for a weekend away especially if you want a golf trip.
