“The Best Beech Inn - Highly recommended”
Reviewed 28 August 2012

We stayed with The Best Beech Inn over the August bank holiday for one night and from the moment we arrived to the checking out we knew we’d made the best choice for the area. The owners were so friendly and helpful and make the atmosphere. We and our Whippet dog were made to feel incredibly welcome. We learnt that the new owners took over the Best Beech Inn only 10 weeks previous to our stay and they have worked really hard to get it up and running and refurbished the bar, restaurant and rooms to a very traditional country retreat. The room and en-suite were perfect, very comfortable and both the dinner and breakfast were excellent. We will definitely be checking in again when next their way. Thanks for great stay!

Room Tip: We stayed in the Four poster room, really spacious with TV, drink making facilities, good bathroom/b...

My partner, my four year old son and I enjoyed a last minute stay at this pub for one night. The staff and owners were extremely friendly and welcoming and the food was well priced and delicious. The room was comfortable and traditional and had everything we needed. We would definately return

After many years of indifferent "management" and a thoughtless, cheap refurbishement by Shepperd Neame, that ripped the heart out of this old country pub,its getting back to the old days! Spencer and his team have done more in a month than others have achieved in years. Its not rocket science - make the pub look like a pub; Friendly, efficient service; Best selling beers and lagers that people want to drink - yes, Harveys is back! and a great new beer garden out the back. A bit of marketing and reasons to come in - Curry, fish and steak nights; Good reasonably priced food; quiz night; bands and atmosphere. It just shows that people make pubs - landlords, motivated staff and punters - the turn around is wirth a visit alone!

We stayed for two nights at The Best Beech Inn in August 2012 while visiting friends in Tunbridge Wells. I come from the area originally and have stayed in a number of Tunbridge Wells hotels over the years, none of which have proved a patch on the quality of service, friendliness, comfort and atmosphere of The Best Beech Inn under its current management.

The staff were helpful and friendly, the food excellent, our room beautifully decorated, well serviced and clean.

We will most definitely choose to stay at The Best Beech again and are happy to recommend it most highly.

This is a gorgeous pub with a lovely atmosphere. There are various corners where you can have a meal, lunch, have a drink at the bar and some bar nibbles. We chose the carvery which was the best carvery i have ever tasted. Along with our carvey we tasted some of the local ale (Harvey's) which is the local favourite. We also stayed one night in room 7 which has a gorgeous four poster bed! Anyone looking for quality ale and home cooked food should give it a try!

Our 4-poster room was full of character, the owners were ever-so kind and friendly and one had the feeling a real effort was being made to make this hotel special. The hotel is prettily situated amongst woodland on a country road but it is only a short drive to some attractive towns. The bar is cosy and welcoming and the restaurant is contemporary in style but still with country charm. I became poorly while there and my husband dined alone and enjoyed the food. They were very helpful in offering to make me some toast or a light bite to have in the room.

My husband stayed here for 2 nights while he was working in the area. When he got back to the room about 8.00pm he was surprised that they hadnt make the beds or cleaned the room or replenished the coffee and milk. He told them the room hadnt been cleaned or beds made etc, they said they had forgot to do it and offered to clean it then but my husband said it didnt matter as he would be going to bed shortly, but they replenished the coffee and milk. On his second morning the tables were not set for breakfast, so had to ask for knives and forks. Although the bathroom was nice it wasnt attached to the room but it was for his sole use, the shower was the old type where you have to attach the tubes on to the taps. The breakfast and the eveing meals were very good
