“Lovely place!”
Reviewed 13 October 2013

Stayed here for one night, wasn't expecting much as it was a motel but I was very pleasantly surprised. The accommodation is actually comprised of chalets, with a bedroom upstairs. A lovely and very convenient location, on the A21 main road towards Hastings and near the many nice places to visit in the Weald of Kent. Even though the main road is incredibly busy at times, we honestly heard no traffic noise once inside the chalet - I think because they are set back from the road and behind a front building. The lounge area provided a lovely comfy sofa, large bean bag and very generous sized coffee table. There was also a single bed tucked underneath the stairs, therefore out of the way but on casters so easy to roll out when required. There was a nice big flat screen TV with full Freeview - a first for me, every other hotel or B&B I've stayed at only provided a very limited selection of channels. And having instant, speedy, reliable WiFi throughout our stay was an excellent bonus. The small kitchenette has a dining room table with four chairs, microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge, cutlery/crockery and a well-stocked hospitality tray. I had no idea any kind of breakfast was provided, so was delighted and very pleased when the lady brought round a bag containing a loaf of bread and a selection of cereals for our complimentary breakfast. There was also a large carton of orange juice in the fridge, together with a pint of milk and a box containing a selection of jams, marmalade, bovril and pats of butter. The bathroom was very clean, a small selection of complementary toiletries was provided and plentiful towels. And the heated towel rail was a nice touch! The bedroom was fine, just look out for the sloping ceilings... There was a small bedside table on either side of the bed, each with a bedside lamp, also a digital alarm clock and hairdryer. Also a decent sized wardrobe. There is a small heater on the wall, so perfect if visiting when the weather isn't very clement. And a good sized Velux window complete with blind, so you can get some fresh air if needed without having to go downstairs and open the door. I wish I could have stayed for longer, I will certainly be staying again - don't pass this one by, it's a real little gem. And it is excellent value for money, most B&Bs in the area are more expensive for much inferior accommodation. Full marks to the owners/staff, what a wonderful find!!!

Rooms are all equipped and have cereal ,pure orange ,bread, milk everything you need basicly to feed yourself before you start your day ? The place its self is really quiet and have had good nights sleep ? So all in all have had great stay and would highly recommend that you stay here also owner is really nice and help full thanks xx

Was on the way o Hastings and got tired of driving and came across forest edge, have just spent a lovely quiet night here with children upstairs in their own room with hubby and me having our own double downstairs as we are in the disabled room, cereals, fruit juice bread and jams etc supplied for breakfast, very good price too...there is a pub on the road opposite and the food there was also good....would come here again certainly a little hidden gem....with great friendly staff and lovely clean little chalet

Room Tip: Ask for disabled if a family so children have own single bed and not sofa bed...we were in room 2
