This was a surprise pamper break booked by my husband. Wow what a fab choice. The grounds were well kept, colourful and lovely to wander in. My hubby had booked me a massage, facial and pedicure. The girls were lovely and put you at ease straight away. The pool indoors was very clean with sun loungers around the side and very quiet. The food in the restaurant was pricey but delicious and men needed to wear either a tie or a jacket in the evening..

Booked for 6 of us for Father's Day lunch. Staff were very attentive and olives, nuts crisps were served whilst we were waiting for order to be taken in bar area. Needed a high chair for my 15 month old which was provided but these were well worn and had seen much better days. Pianist in restaurant provided nice background music and staff were efficient and quick to serve / take orders. Our 3 courses were delicious, ham hock well recommended as was the chocolate tart desert. But things were ultimately spoilt when one of my party ordered coffee for himself. A huge cafetiere was served with petit four (priced separately on menu at £4.75). As there was no way this was going to be drunk by one person we asked for an extra cup which duly turned up. (Still didn't finish it all). When the bill came we had been charged for 2 x coffees .The waiter could not understand my point as to why I was unhappy being charged twice, and if he was not able to provide an extra cup for free, he should have advised of this fact and I should have been served with another cafetiere. Anyway it went off to the Manager to deal with and was taken off the bill, having to have a lengthy conversation to get him to understand! Shame as this spoilt what had been a lovely meal. And £7.10 for a Tia Maria and coke? Shocking!!

Very nice wedding location but our basic room was not worthy of the £180 a night price tag. For that money you expect an excellent bed - unfortunately ours was uncomfy and the pillows were poor. Infuriating floor boards - some solid, some squeaky.

The positives - nice breakfast, nice swimming pool, nice grounds, accommodating staff.

Very much enjoyed the 2 nights we stayed there, only really left disappointed by the feeling of being slightly ripped off.

A very pleasant stay. The room is clean & spacious. The spa is accessible with friendly staff. Service at the reception is swift & efficient. The food could be more generous and well presented. Staff were conscientious & accommodating. A pleasurable and pleasant stay.

I will get the poor bits out if the way. Don't like nibbles left in bowls on the tables in the bar, fresh bowls should be offered when you buy a drink, and the price of our non alcoholic cocktails reflect this. The decoration and furniture of the imposing public rooms is reminiscent of a Hove care home circa 1973. Time for a bit of an update I think. A part from this our lunch was great, light tasty starters, very tender roast beef, fluffy Yorkshire puds tasty veggies and gravy, followed by, in my case, lemon tart with blackcurrants . The service was very good and attentive. We walked in the grounds and saw a wedding party and it seems an ideal location for this. We really enjoyed our visit and will visit again.
