“Good budget accomodation”
Reviewed 10 November 2011

I stayed in room 515 (disabled room) for 5 nights and had a very enjoyable stay. The room was very nice and the bed was very comfortable. I chose this hotel due to the good price and its great location (to the train station and the nightlife). The hotel does get busy on a Saturday with party goers but I was never disturbed by them. The staff are also very good and approachable. My only negative was that the full breakfast was quite expensive at £8. A very good budget hotel overall.

Room Tip: The higher up the better!

The good:
Excellent location so close to the railway station and high street.
Friendly, very courteous, helpful staff throughout, including cleaning staff - service with a smile, a rare commodity.
Spotlessly clean, decent size room and en-suite. The walls must be unusually thick for a hotel because we heard very little from the occupants of the adjacent room. Comfortable beds (firm but not hard), tea/coffee facilities, high quality flat screen freeview tv, wi-fi (30p).
Good quality/quantity self-service cooked or continental breakfast in pleasant restaurant on the ground floor. Breakfast includes a lovely, tasty fresh fruit salad.
We were emailed a link to their survey the day after our stay. They clearly wanted to find out how we rated them and how they could improve

The not so good:
Our key cards worked only intermittently and it was frustrating to be denied access to the lifts, the stairs or our room. We had to return to reception each time they failed to work to get them re-programmed.
Only one hard chair in our twin room.
The pillows weren't very comfortable.
We were a bit concerned about the fairly small, dark and rather dirty off the street underground car park. It was located in the side road in an isolated area some way round the corner from the entrance.
(Probably inevitable) noisy A/C unit at the back of the hotel at ground level.

The postive points far outweigh the negative and nowhere's perfect so they get 9/10. We definitely recommend this hotel.

Although the Brentwood premier Inn is clean and the staff polite and helpful the noise during our stay made a good nights sleep impossible! You could hear the hand dryers in other rooms going during the night and the noise of guest coming in late and talking/laughing in the corridors kept us awake. At the time we were unaware of the 'Good nights Sleep' guarentee, had we been we would have asked for our money back. If you do stay here ask for a higher floor as this hotel is obviously a regular for young people out for a good night. Parking is also a bit of a nightmare especially if you have a big car!

Just back from a weekend visiting family,Found the hotel to be clean and in good position for town and station.Staff were very polite and helpful. The only downside for us was the late night noise from young people shouting and banging on eachothers doors, during 1am .- 2.30am.We had requested a lower room due to suffering from claustraphobia and being unable to use a lift, and was allocated the 3rd,.but unfortunately was penalized for this,as had both nights with disturbed sleep and had to call reception to sort the problem. We did have family members on the 5th and 6th floors who had no problems. On our day of departure a very polite manager did reimburse us but it is a shame that an otherwise good hotel should have to do this, as it is obviously a regular haunt for young people going out locally at the weekend.

The gathering near the front door of youths with drinks in their hand, doesnt set your mind at ease, but its a different story inside.

Rooms are suprisingly big, but not cold or dull, as you would probably expect of some budget hotels. Carpet does feel a bit thin, but it is well isulated, from the noise outside and the main door has a subtle feel of security with it.

Bed looks invinting and is firm, but comfy. Much on par with some of the more main stream hotels, like Holiday Inn.

Everything works, and theres even tea/coffee/kettle and hair dryer in the room.

In the ensuite, theres everything that you would expect, altho, if you have soft skin, then maybe u might need to bring your own towels, as the ones here (at least) felt harsh and akin to cardboard.

That said, there were more ups than downs, more importantly, you managed to rest, and that- has to be the most important thing of all.

Pretty Damn good, i'd say, and def worth the money.

Stayed overnight on a Sunday. Conveniently sited for railway station and shopping high street. Sports bar literally next door. Good parking facilities. Staff friendly and helpful. Booked early so had the reduced rate of £29. Room up to usual standards except for an unsightly stain (red wine???) on carpet. No instructions for TV operation, and turned out to be a faulty lead. No instructions for use of phone to contact reception - DOH! Room on 9th floor a little claustrophobic - no 'opening' window, not even a little for fresh air. Despite these minor 'blips', good value for money, and would stay there again. Essential to book early though, 'cos I thought regular prices expensive for what it is.

Room Tip: Some of the rooms on the higher floors apparently have panoramic views of London (I didn't get o...

I've stayed here several times and everytime it has been clean, quiet and simple.

The rooms and beds are not luxurious but are tidy, funcitonal and comfortable. the windows are all double glazed which keeps the rooms quiet. I have never had a bad nights sleep in one of their beds and the staff are always friendly and professional.

It is located near the centre of town and if there was a bad point it would be that the restaurant is not great for dinners. I'd recommend wandering the 5 minute walk to the centre of town where you can get anything you want to eat.
