This is an excellent pub with a smallish restaurant and a differing selection of ales on hand-pumps. Bev & Alan have been in command there for six years and it is better than ever. One reviewer has moaned about the absence of kids, dogs and wifi – another bonus if you're looking for a quiet drink where you can hear yourself speak! The bar snacks at lunch-time are tasty and good value as are the more "formal" meals in the restaurant. There is the occasional live music evening for those who wish for a bit more action, but these are infrequent, although they seem very popular; it gets a bit elbow-to-elbow on those occasions. Give it a try.
