“Wonderful birthday surprise!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 November 2013

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying in this wonderful hotel on Friday night. We were charmed by the atmosphere and delighted by the service we recieved by the staff. As it was my Husbands birthday we treated ourselves to the Taster Menu which is out of this world not to mention the brilliant wine paring menu, and our lovely waiter Vic, who was charming and unintrusive. Also a huge thank you to the chef for the birthday message when the dessert arrived. We dont get many chances to treat ourselves as we have 2 young children, so thank you for making our stay so special. Ps room 47 is amazing , quiet, cozy plus a jacuzzi bath!! Definately worth a visit!

Room Tip: Room 47 is beautiful with seperate lounge area , double sinks in bathroom, shower plus jacuzzi bath

Marygreen Manor Hotel is such a beautiful venue to hold your dream Wedding and/or Reception.
My wife and I were married at sea in October and had previously decided to hold a wedding reception for our family and friends at Marygreen Manor upon our return.
We cannot recommend the venue highly enough. The staff were really helpful, the quality of the food was exceptional, the ambiance of the rooms were delightful and the whole experience was like all our dreams had come true.
The smiles on all our guests faces was proof enough and their comments regarding the whole experience were really touching and we will treasure the day forever.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for a dream Wedding Reception
We seriously cannot recommend Marygreen Manor highly enough.

Room Tip: We had a Wedding Suite but also booked several Garden Rooms for our guests. All were fantastic

if you are wanting a visit to London or on your way to the ports. Stayed a couple of nights and went away wanting to make an excuse to stay there again. It is a most delightful place with the quirkiness of the old building and the lovely garden at the back. The staff were wonderful, greeting you in the morning with a lovely breakfast, which is a must to bidding you farewell on your journey home. Oh, and a big thank you for posting my phone and iPad chargers back to me free of charge. Till the next time.

Room Tip: If journeying into London park up at Upminster underground station for £7.20 a day.

We stayed at the Merrygreen Manor on 30th Oct for one night to celebrate my parents 65th wedding anniversary. We enjoyed excellent accommodation and had beautiful meal in the lavish dining area...fine dining at its best...excellent attention from the staff serving us and making sure we were well looked after. It was a great experience with happy memories for all of us. Would recommend it for that special event. Many thanks to all

Our two-night stay at the Marygreen Manor Hotel in Brentwood was thoroughly enjoyable. We didn't go for one of the Tudor rooms situated in the main 16th century building, each named after one of Henry VIII's wives, but settled for a ground floor room next to the garden, which was excellent - spacious, comfortable and tastefully decorated. We ate both evenings in the Tudors Restaurant, enjoying our meals. The hotel had many visitors on our last evening, a Friday, and some of them, I couldn't help noticing, were rather peculiar. They turned out to be actors. It was the popular Murder Mystery Night at the Marygreen. We slept soundly, even though Professor Plum had been bludgeoned in the library with a piece of lead pipe. Nice hotel. We'll be back!

Service was very good and staff attentive.

Lunch was good but extremely small portions on oversized plates.

Vegetables very sparse, one mouthful at the most. (one mangetout and few bits carrot and about 6 peas)

Tiramisu was nothing like one I had ever had before.

£9 plus for a pot of tea for three with two teabags in pot.

Drinks.....£10 for a mediocre not very chilled glass of wine ?

We visited last night for our anniversary. We like it here, there is nowhere else around locally where you can enjoy a pre dinner drink and lovely food.

We chose the Taster menu (6 courses plus coffee and petit fours) and my husband also had the wine paring.

All very good, lovely and relaxing. Vic and Pepe the waiters are very attentive but professional, personal and discrete.

The husband would have preferred dessert wine with course 6, (dessert) rather than prosecco.

Didn't affect our meal or enjoyment... But... A traveller girl (around 11 years old) sneaked in the hotel/restaurant and walked to the remaining 2 tables (us and another couple) and asked 'trick or treat', we both declined and she went. Not quite sure how she was allowed to enter the hotel, let alone wander around. (I think trick or treat is begging and I won't entertain it).

Always our first port of call when we want a special meal. Will be back.
