“Great food”
Reviewed 26 January 2014

We visited for Sunday lunch and the food was delicious. However, the service was not as good as expected and as they had the service charge to the bill felt let down by this.
The waitress was grumpy and had difficulty delivering the food to the correct table. As we were sat next to the table where the food was served from we could easily see that this happened on a number of occasions. When she delivered the wrong food to our table she made us feel like it was our fault!
My dinner was served wrongly but it was rectified quickly.
Cannot fault the food itself as it was delicious but very let down by the service.

Went here with a friend to sample the afternoon tea. We were taken to what appeared to be a conservatory area which overlooked some lovely gardens. All the tables were occupied, which is always a good sign. Have to say the cakes and sandwiches were delicious, and plenty of tea and coffee. Nothing was too much trouble, and the member of staff who was dealing with us was first class. We were unable to eat all of the cakes/sandwiches and we asked if we could take them away with us. The member of staff took them away and returned with them in two parcels made up from foil. One was in the shape of a basket, the other in the shape of a swan. What a lovely touch, and just added to a lovely afternoon. Highly recommend, and value for money.

Despite its formal, traditional look, the hotel is relaxed and informal. Our room was lovely - spacious and relaxing. The staff are very friendly, helpful and concerned to make sure we had a great stay. Fabulous breakfast

We arrived with a warm check in, was not shown to our room which resulted in getting lost but found it after a very helpful waiter pointed out where to go. Arrived to our room to see a nice big bed! Clean appearances to the room, bathroom was nice with lovely decor. There was a few grimy rusty parts in the bathroom which could of been cleaned better but was still happy with it as was only staying one night!

I was thrilled with having fruit and mineral water in our room as that showed me that this is really worth the price of the room (130).
Was an old but beautiful building, the paintwork in the bedrooms just need to have a closer eye kept on.
WIFI did not work in our room was slightly disappointed, but there was a wedding going on so didn't want to keep fussing the receptionist after her getting slightly rude to me about the food menu! (Our 3 course dinner which was included, the menu was not very well explained it was rather posh for me and didn't really appeal to anything on the menu) the receptionist then went on to be rather unhelpful with finding out options on having something "plain" cooked for me when we went for dinner.

We arrived in the restaurant for dinner and the service was excellent!
We felt like we was treated like royalty by our waiter Vic! They have given us bread to nibble on and a bottle of wine all complimentary!
The food was amazing, I didn't bother trying to get the chef to make me a separate dish, I just had what my partner had which turned out to be the BEST meal we've had!
I couldn't fault the food it was perfectly portioned was great quality ingredients.

I was treated to this breakaway for my birthday and loved it! I would defiantly return if I could afford it myself! But may look into visiting their sister hotel one day!

16th Century Tudor Experience close to M25 and Friendly and very Helpful staff. Free WiFi, great coffee and warm and cosy rooms close to Train Station too. To visit London, take the cab (7 pound) to Shenfield train station from Marygreen, and then go to Liverpool St Station London (17 pound return) as it only takes 15 mins to get there (express). Love it, will stay here again next time in Brentwood?

Booked one of the Tudor Suites ( Jane Seymour) on a special deal which included dinner and breakfast during the period between Christmas and New Year to celebrate a 50th birthday. Fantastic value for money,

The accomodation was excellent - comfy four-poster bed, whirlpool bath and separate shower .
The restaurant is beautiful - elegant and stylish Tudor baronial hall - many features throughout the hotel, which is in fact an authentic original Tudor Manor House.

The food and wine and service was faultless - considering there was a wedding party in the hotel too. The full English breakfast did not disappoint either.

This was a luxurious experience and I would heartily recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: The garden rooms are cheaper but not Tudor. I would recommend a Tudor Suite if you really want the l...
