“Afternoon Tea Heaven!!”

We have just returned after having a wonderful afternoon tea at this beautiful hotel,
What can i say..... a spectacular treat, one of the best teas ive had, home made pastries, nice selection of sandwiches, tasty home baked scones..........

Service was good ........beautiful hotel, will be back to sample more of the restaurants treats, thats for sure

Our party of 9 girls spent the afternoon on terrace and around pool ...lovely ! Rooms were pleasant and clean . Evening meal In restaurant was a mixed bag ! Although only 2 other diners our party was expected to squeeze onto a make shift table until we objected .Glasses were removed before we had chance to order wine and there were only 8 menus left for us to have !!! It all seemed a little too much effort for the staff which was a shame . Maybe needs a new manager to truley bring restaurant into line with rest of hotel ????

We are delighted to hear how much you and your friends enjoyed relaxing around our beautiful, heated outdoor pool area; it is definitely one of our guest’s favourite places to spend some of their leisure time.

After looking into your comments regarding our restaurant, it is a shame that your experience was not as enjoyable as that of many of our visitors.
Indeed, the restaurant is one of the jewels in our crown at the hotel and we do strive to ensure that all guests receive a 5 star service when dining as well as staying with us.
Hopefully you will stay with us again soon to enable us to showcase our restaurant at its usual high standard.

We look forward to seeing you at the De Rougemont Manor again in the near future.

Stayed for one night with wife and two kids.
The +'s
- easy booking direct and they were accommodative in arranging an additional bed together with the king/sofa so all 4 family members could stay together.
- reasonably friendly staff more so in the bar area than reception.
- decent pool so I could spend time there with my daughter
- nice bar/terrace for drinks

Others
- the lift is on one side of the hotel (we were on the other) and it seems many corridors/stairs to get to our room
- room was very dated in appearance
- in my opinion, breakfast was nothing special for a hotel, (had better in b/b's) although choice is good
- very slow in offering help with our bags

Room Tip: If you have mobility challenges, ask for a room on the lower floor or near reception/staircase

Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed review of our hotel.

We are glad that you were able to enjoy some of our fantastic leisure facilities, especially our heated pool and our beautiful bar/terrace area which is always a very popular feature.
Our staff are certainly one of our biggest assets at the hotel and as such we are pleased to find that you found them friendly and accommodating.

As you can appreciate, our hotel is set in a Victorian building which lends itself to some beautiful characteristics – including the less conventional, yet charming layout of our rooms, all of which have been or are still undergoing levels of refurbishment.

We feel that we offer our guests an excellent breakfast choice, with everything ranging from fruit, cereal, pastries, cold meats, yoghurts and toast through to a full English cooked breakfast and as such we are pleased that you also felt the choice was good.

We can only apologise for the delay in offering help with your bags, however as a rule our staff are always on hand to help with transferring luggage to guest’s bedrooms, should this be required.

Thank you once again for choosing to stay at the De Rougemont Manor Hotel and we sincerely hope to be able to welcome you and your family back again in the future.

Wonderful place to stay, very clean, service is excellent, bed are very comfortable, well maintain, every time I come round to brentwood I always stay at this hotel, friendly service, overall I just love staying at this place, many of people I know I always recommend them to stay here when they visited brentwood

I stayed here a few months ago now and it good for a business stay over. The location, service and quality of rooms are all okay, not outstanding but okay and in keeping with other venues in this area.

Breakfast offer was good and I would stay here again but there are better choices in the area.

Stayed for a business trip and found the hotel very appealing with lovely interiors, nice grounds and lounge terrace area to sit out out in the evening. The staff were helpful and very pleasant but my otherwise pleasant room was let down by a couple of annoying issues. My room (number 1) was on the ground floor right next to the main door connecting the lounge areas to the bedrooms and it slammed shut all night starting again from 5am the following morning. The matress was very soft with one side of the double almost unusable. I would expect a good mattress for £99 per night.
The resaurant was very good and good value for the area. The breakfast was also good.
This is an expensive area for business trips but I still prefer this hotel to the Holiday Inn or Premiere inn and would stay again but would hope to get a better room next time.

Room Tip: Avoid room 1 until they fix the banging door.

We are delighted to read how highly you thought of our hotel, grounds and staff. We are ourselves very proud of all of these aspects.
Our restaurant, Heseltines, is indeed one of the finest in the area and we take pride in the breakfast choice that we can provide to our guests.

It is a shame that you felt that you had a couple of niggles with your room. We do try to encourage our guests to report anything you may be unhappy with to us at the time of your stay, so that if possible we can ensure it is resolved to your liking.
Please do not hesitate to request a certain room when making a booking with us, where possible this will always be accommodated by our reservations team.

Took my parents here for afternoon tea on the 19th June.
What a delightful place. Full of history and a beautiful setting.
The service was very good and friendly.
The food was fresh and tasty and well presented, but I do wish they did champagne by the glass.
The toilets were clean and I did like the towels with the lovely soap and hand cream.
I shall return, thank you for a lovely afternoon tea.
