A lovely afternoon visit to this very unusual nature reserve, it's tricky to find having to pull into the pub and then open a gate which leads you to the car park. The volunteers have done an amazing job and there are signs everywhere to tell you about the history of the house ruins and some of the plants. Lovely views and we did manage to see Canary Wharf despite a slight haze. We spent some time watching the birds from a hide, and visited a little shed with some photos of how the estate would have looked in its heyday. We will be back!

I visited here today with my mum and it was lovely. It was quite difficult to find - parking is next to the pub - you have to open a wooden gate to drive through.
Once parked up you just walk in - there is no paid entry, just a donation box so you can give what you can towards the upkeep.
There are so many beautiful flowers and trees - also the ruins are gorgeous. There is also a view of the London skyline that you can see on a clear day. We spent about 2 hours wondering around and taking photos.
After you can just walk to the pub and have a meal or a drink - which is what we did and it was lovely.

Wonderful nature reserve, in the grounds of a mansion from a by-gone era..,,some of the original garden landscaping is still in situ...a rockery/ stream with huge boulders, foundations of the original outbuildings... the basement of the house exposed to the elements... an old summer house with mosaic floor.... fascinating place to explore... plants and trees a-plenty... really beautiful walk, accompanied by bird song.

Warley Place can be visited all year round and there is a lot of history there and views across London. In the 19 Century over one hundred gardeners were employed in the grounds which are now maintained by a few volunteers. The house has now gone as have the greenhouses but the ruins remain and one building with all the history inside.
In spring the area is awash with daffodils. It was the first time i had seen acres of them with nowhere to tread inbetween them. A glorious site. Also has two hides for bird watching.

We found this beautiful place on trip advisor!!
We found it to be a lovely peaceful and tranquil place. There are marked footpaths and information boards that explain what the ruins were and about the many trees there, including the Headache tree!!! We will certainly go back in the different seasons to see the changes.
