Although the exterior of the hotel is not a not a lot to be desired, the rooms were really clean, spacious and the staff were so friendly. Considering we were there for a wedding, (unlike many other hotels) they were really attentive and accommodating.
I stayed here for two weeks on training for work and the stay could not have been better! The service from restaurant staff was exemplary and the food during the stay had no complaints - always hot, tasted fresh. If youre looking for a hotel to stay around the area pick here, you will not be disappointed.
Comfortable one night stay. Very good location for train station and then its only a short trip to London (or Stratford in our case). Free parking in a secure and spacious area was a real bonus. Rates high for what it is as some have commented but with a large gig and London a short trip away it was a bargain compared to other economy hotels in Chelmsford and one third the price of anything in Stratford that night. Room was large and quiet .. we kept window open and you could hear the trains go by in the distance which was quite relaxing.
Location of hotel is hard to find. Satnav did not correspond to Post Code. Not enough signs on road showing where the entrance was. Decor to outside is awful but inside was much better. Breakfast was awful don’t waste your money!
Potentially very good but let down by a couple of factors.. Cooling fan inadequate on a warm evening. Room was only surface clean.. Sheets had stains and coffee marks on furniture.. Would still recommend but would be so much better if the minor issues were fixed..
