Charming hostess, excellent breakfasts, beautiful place, peaceful and comfortable. I wouldn't hesitate to either return or to recommend. It's such a pleasure to find a business that is working because of professionalism, intelligence and a happy love of what they do.

My friend and I shared a twin room. Beds very comfortable, all amenities as appropriate, with lots of delicious things to eat in the room and downstairs in the comfortable living room. The owners were extremely friendly, their two very daft Labradors were adorable. I would also be very tempted to try out the self-catering cottage on another occasion, which looked lovely.

There are plenty of good eateries nearby (lists in the living room); we visited the Robin Hood pub, eight minutes away by car, and were not disappointed there either.

A perfect base for this part of the Essex coast.

We stayed at this particular B&B quite simply because of its location, living as we do in a perfectly quiet hamlet it was important to us that we could avoid road noise - and this B&B most certainly achieves that.

Located in a farm approximately 500m off the main road at the end of the farm lane (absolutely no passing traffic), sits a large farmhouse with attached cottage (which is also let out for self-catering). The guest accommodation of the main house consists of two bedrooms, one double and one twin; both of which have en-suite shower/toilet facilities.

The quality of the guest rooms is simply excellent, crisp bed linen on very comfortable beds. Tea/Coffee facilities in the room (with a range of drinks including hot chocolate for that late night sugar fix), even a couple of chocolate bars. Bottled mineral water also available in the room.

Entertainment is provided by way of a flat-screen television, with inbuilt DVD player and a separate Freeview decoder.

Breakfast is served in the dining room adjacent to the kitchen, a range of fruits, yoghurt and cereals are accompanied by an excellent cooked English breakfast if desired. Using locally produced breads and meats along with eggs that have not travelled more that a few yards from the farm's hen-house. Alternative breakfasts, such as fish were also available by giving advance notice.

There is also a guest sitting room complete with beverages and cakes, much better than sitting in your bedroom for extended periods.

Your hosts are very friendly and accommodating, happy to leave you to your own devices but there should you need anything extra.

Nice touches - His and Hers Towels, Hot Water Bottle, Bottle Opener/Corkscrew, Hair-dryer, Bird-Feeder on breakfast room window, Well looked after garden complete with wildlife.
