“X Rated Hornchurch”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 April 2014

First visit and last visit to the Sukhothai restaurant whilst eating the spicy prawn crackers discovered a long dark hair in my mouth, on telling the waitress a cursory apology was offered, should have left then!! but decided to order, big mistake, prawn tom yum soup was mainly flavoured with hard raw pieces of ginger, chosen curry was no better ginger once again, with the addition of whole raw chillies, probably one of the worst meals I have ever had!!!

“Rich tasting food that exceeds expectations”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 April 2014

Haven't been here for ten years, but went as a pre-theatre meal. Really delicious, the soup was so tasty and there's a varied and interesting menu to choose from. Can't wait to go back!

“Been many times, will go again. ”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 April 2014 via mobile

I've eaten here a dozen times or more and I'm happy to go back for any occasion. The food is always good, no matter what people order. I've taken family, friends, visitors from Singapore and more here and no one has ever had a bad word to say.
For the food/service I would go 4 stars. But when you throw in the superb value lunch, it has to a 5.

“First time for us...we will be back”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 March 2014

Despite having walked past Sukhothai so many times, we finally went last night for dinner. It was really busy when we arrived and the table that we were given was next to the bar and the loos...not great as the through traffic meant that it wasn't a great environment. Next time will ask for a table in the main seating area.
The restaurant is well decorated and feels pretty authentic with wood panelling and lots of Thai paintings etc, which makes the experience feel pretty good.
So, despite the fact it was really busy, the service was polite and efficient and the food that we ordered was brought to the table quickly.
All of the foods that we had which included chicken satay, tempura prawns, green curry, duck and ginger etc was all really good quality, fresh tastes and hot. Everyone else in the restaurant appeared to be having a good time too and as mentioned, it was really packed, which is a really good sign.
Costs were about £25 per head for 2 courses and drinks (and tip which is added), so pretty good value for money.
Will go again...
