This hotel is well situated on Southend seafront close to the local town centre and seafront. From the outside the building looks like one of the grand hotels form days gone by, but internally it is surprisingly modern with spacious air conditioned room, nice comfy beds and the usual amenities such as tea/coffee, TV etc.
Breakfast is the usual buffet affair with a nice selection of hot & cold items - I was particularly partial to the fresh bread you sliced yourself.
Evening meals are a choice between some very tasty bar food offerings and the more traditional restaurant option. For an hotel dinner wasn't as ridiculously overpriced as some other hotels I've stayed at. For a wider choice you are also close enough to walk into town and try out a number of restaurants and pubs. A Costa coffee is also quite close by.
Depending on your room you'll either have a view of the seafront which comes alive at night with all of the funfair lights or you get a view of the local shopping centre car park. This car park is also used by hotel guests for a discounted price.
All in all a very comfortable hotel with polite and efficient staff which I'd happily recommend.
