I was a bit unsure about coming to dinner here after reading some of the reviews. Booked a table the day before and the woman on the phone said she would have to check the diary, made me laugh when we arrived in the restaurant as we were the only people there!
We were given a table in the main room upstairs and I loved the decor and the quirkiness of the whole place. The waitress was attentive at first and we had our drinks and had ordered our starters and mains within ten minutes of sitting down. We both had the tuna to start and the rib eye steak for main. We were given a complimentary amuse bouche which tasted very nice. Our starter arrived and the tuna and cucumber were lovely and the granita tasted so refreshing. I was a little disappointed with the mains, the steak was very fatty and though we had both asked for our steak to be cooked rare, they were more medium bordering on well done.
The service started to go down hill while were eating our main, the two waitresses were cleaning down chairs quite noisily right beside us and it was a little off putting. After we had finished eating and our plates were taken away it took nearly fifteen minutes to get the attention of one of the waitresses, who were both chatting to each other at the other end of the restaurant, so we could have our bill. Then took another ten minutes for the waitress to come back so we could pay by card.
I had quite high expectations of this place, the food was ok but what really let it down was the service.
