Return visit with a guest. The welcome and attentive - but never intrusive - service were just as good as we had the last time. The charming but unflashy restaurant faces out to sea and the amazing 2km Southend Pier. The fish here looks and tastes as delicious as though it had been caught off the pier especially for your order! Absolutely scrumptious and portions ( be warned ) are generous.
The range of the menu is awesome and if you like fish, here is seventh heaven. [ If you don't, you can have a steak or other meat for which a short but good menu is offered]
The place alone is worth going to for the view.

We visited the Fishermans Wharf on 29 May during the school half term holiday. Our party consisted of seven children and three adults and we visited at 6pm in the evening. After being informed that we would need to sit separately the staff managed to accommodate our large party on one table which was great. The food was good and the service great with a friendly waitress. Prices are very reasonable with a small fish and chips £7.75, which was freshly cooked. Good variety of childrens meals to appeal to fussy eaters. Would definitely visit again. Only downside is steep flight of stairs to get to restaurant which may be difficult for some diners.

Went for lunch on two different days . The quality is first class. Staff friendly and nothing too much trouble. The food was first class and plenty of it . One if the best meals I have ever had. A good tip .Book your table as they get full fast .

I have been to this restaurant a few years ago and was really happy with the food so decided a return visit. I won't be back! Tuna cooked within an inch of life (i sent this back as inedible) and when asked if the whitebait was fresh, the reply was yes but they couldn't supply this without breadcrumbs! Do they come out of the sea in breadcrumbs? I think not! Overpriced, inedible food and arrogant owner!

As they say here 'we do not serve fast food - we serve good quality food as fast as we can'. This is an excellent seaside and seafood restaurant. Try the Moules Marinière.
