This was by far the cheapest hotel for a one night stopover. Booked to see a show & booked the hotel on a pay now & no refunds deal but for only £59 we couldn't have asked for more. No breakfast but as check out was not until 11 it meant we could have a lie in. Hotel was lovely & quiet, overlooking the airport but couldn't hear a thing. The bar on the 5th floor was nice for a quick drink upon returning from our wanders. Cant comment on the food although the prices were expensive. Rooms were very nice with a really comfy (& huge) bed. Nice smellies in the bathroom too. Reception staff were very helpful too. The only minor complaint was that the windows didn't open & we don't like aircon so were a little stuffy by the morning.

Stayed here couple of nights whilst touring Europe on a business trip.
    Clean, spacious rooms.
Staff was very accommodating and polite.
Very close to the train station ( handy if you are travelling to London) and of course the local airport.
Did not try the food but had drinks on the bar on the top floor overlooking the runway and most of the town.

Room Tip: Did not see a spa or swimming pool

We stayed for two nights and have nothing but praise for the quality of the food and the friendliness of the staff - nothing was too much trouble. From sorting out cups of tea at 5am when sleep was impossible to maps of the area and sorting out taxis for 14 of us. If you dine in, I would recommend the lamb - absolutely wonderful!
The room was clean and modern ( as you would expect from a new hotel) BUT sleep was virtually impossible due to the softness of the double bed - which meant it was impossible to keep apart . And was it my imagination that the bed was more like a large single than a normal double?? It was also strange that although the wardrobe was spacious, there were no compartments or drawers for pants and socks etc.
However, the positives well outweighed the negatives and look forward to returning next year.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the airport for entertainment value!

    Dear Sylvia F,

Thank you for taking the time to write a review about your recent stay with us.We look forward to welcoming you next year. We are delighted you think so highly of our team and that you enjoyed the food.
I was sorry to learn that you thought our beds are uncomfortable. We have had a few comments regarding our beds being soft and we do have bed boards to firm up the comfort. I do wish you had mentioned it to the reception team as we may have been able to remedy or moved your room.
Thank you again for your kind comments regarding our staff and food specially lamb.

Our wardrobe is equipped with shelves, iron board and iron & equally our bed side tables has drawers to be used at guest discretion.

    Regards

    Rohit

We met up with family here for one night as we were going to a wedding in Southend. There were twenty of us so quite chaotic! Our rooms were upgraded to executive rooms apart from the families with children which was understandable (glad ours are grown up!). Fantastic room, everything you needed, great view too. Reception staff were friendly and helpful even booking taxis for us all. Breakfast was exceptionally good just wish we could have stayed to have dinner! Would certainly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Upgraded to an executive room for free no idea why! It was lovely but maybe the standard rooms are great too.

I stay here most weeks for business. It is by far the nicest, cleanest and best quality hotel in Southend.

The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of the airport makes this hotel ordeal for anyone catching a flight from London Southend.

The reception staff are great and very efficient, the top floor restaurant is stylish with a quirky view of the runway

The menu choice is very good and the food quality is fantastic, I'd you out for the breakfast you won't be disappointed.

Rooms are immaculately clean and spacious with large flat screen tv together with air conditioning which can be a bit noisy at times!
