If you want a VIP room for a hen night buffet or such, and the Admirals room is not available, do NOT accept the directors room as an alternative. It was very run down, miles away from the function and full of old and broken furniture! I was so disappointed for my guests and it cost far more than it was worth.

Thoroughly enjoyed first half of Dawn French yesterday but nearly missed the second half due to being in a queue of 15 ladies waiting to use the facilities at top of stairs! There was a call to return to seats within 3 minutes! Me and a friend just made it back in time and fortunately our other friends had retrieved our pre booked interval refreshments but it was a rush! Toilets didn't seem to be easily noticeable and maybe staff could have redirected the obvious queue to other facilities knowing the show was due to restart.

We went to see Let it be at the Cliffs Pavilion on 6/7/14 for the afternoon matinee. Its not the first time that we have seen the show but it is the first time outside the West End. I must say that the show travelled well 'on the road' and is as good as when it was in a fixed location in London. If you get a chance to see it near you and are a Beatles fan go and enjoy it. I am a bit biased as I have seen it about 6 times now and do notice that they seem to alter some of the songs from time to time, but of course they can't go wrong with that amount of modern classics to pick from. It was a shame that the theatre was only half full, they should have cut the prices and filled the place up and would have made more money over the bar. I feel that we could have been offered better seats on the day, not very good Southend. We had a meal in the Pavilion restaurant which was very good and excellent value.
