“Raindrops keep falling on my head”
Reviewed 22 May 2014

Went to see The Furey's on a rainy Monday night and they were brilliant, unfortunately it was raining both outside and inside the theatre during the performance. The stairs to the upper tier are a nightmare, up, down and then up or it might have been the other way around. Theatre tired and in need of a revamp desparately. Some builders in the audience were heard to remark that thye would leave their card at the box office as work was needed. Even the band noticed and offered umbrellas with the CD's.

“Absolutely brilliant show - Tommy”
Reviewed 13 May 2014

We went to see the musical Tommy on Sat 10th May in the Palace Theatre. It's a beautiful old (1912) Art Nouveau bldg with a sunny atrium cafe for drinks. The show was stupendous. The music was absolutely fantastic and the players did a brilliant job portraying The Who's musical. I've seen the show twice in the West End in the 90s and the original film in Leicester Square in the 70s and this latest offering, by Leigh Operatic Society, was just as good.

We were rocking away to the music and had a really enjoyable experience. Will definitely return to the theatre as they have some more good shows lined up for the summer season.

“Nice little Theatre. ”
Reviewed 30 April 2014 via mobile

Seen a few shows here including Jon Richardson and enjoyed each visit. Auditorium has a traditional feel to it and never had a bad view of stage.

“great provincial theatre”
Reviewed 28 April 2014

I first discovered this theatre back in 2005 when I saw "Dirty Den" from Eastenders in some Geoffrey Archer play. It was a great night, and ever since I've been a frequent visitor to the Palace.
It's a marvelous little theatre with west end quality productions at a fraction of the price and fab stand-up. The Dixon studio is also ideal for smaller productions.
There's adequate paking nearby, as long as it's after 6.30, and there's a whole range of restaurants including Oldhams chippy which is outstanding and just over the road.
I can't praise this place enough.
