Owner description: Lee Valley Park Farms in Waltham Abbey, Essex are just the best kind of fun when it comes to a great value family day out. There are cuddly sheep, giant rabbits, rare breed pigs, long-necked llamas and a loveable meerkat family to meet. You can hit the heights on the giant bouncy pillow, scale the Spider Tower or whizz down the slopes on our fantastic toboggan run. The lttle ones love riding on the combine harvester in Piglet's Paradise. Then take a short trip on a tractor trailer to our working dairy farm, where you'll meet the cows and learn all about life on a real farm.

“Great day out”

Great kids day out with plenty for the little people to do; bottle feeding the lambs was the highlight for our little one

“Great farm, shame about the cafe!”
Reviewed 18 June 2011

The farm is great, child orientated and the staff friendly - although getting on the pricey side. The farm cafe serves bog standard no frills food the hot menu either microwaved or deep fried. Jacket potatoes and pizzas are pre-cooked then reheated....if you are looking for unimaginative, tasteless and processed food - great - but that's not what we wanted! The side salad was clearly pre-packaged and tasted on the turn. I felt like saying to the staff - would you enjoy eating this yourselves or serve it to your children? We went to a similar cafe (Little Dinosaurs in Alexandra Park) last weekend which was along the same price range, but with an outstanding home cooked menu and the chef took pride in serving good food - maybe Lee Vallery Farm Cafe was just so bad, because I know what really good cafe food could be.

“Fantastic day out for everyone”
Reviewed 9 June 2011

We saw the farms advertised on AA Days Out and although we only live 25 minutes away, we had never heard of it. We had two young nieces visiting (age 3 and 5) for the weekend, so decided to take them.
The entry price was very reasonable at £7 per adult (the website had vouchers for free child entry).
On arrival, the staff were very welcoming and explained everything to us about the farms and the planned activitied for the day, which the children could take part in - pig racing, feed the lambs, meet a water dragon, stroke a chinchilla, dig in the indoor sandpit, watch the cows being milked, ride on a tractor trailer...there was plenty to choose from & the girls did the lot!
Everything is very central, so no need to walk for ages when the children want to go back to see the reindeer or tackle the indoor play centre a second time.
Loads of picnic areas, play areas, animals to see and brilliant keepers who actually spoke to the children, not just the adults, which is rare!
We were there for 5 hours, which was very unexpected, and will certainly be going back very soon.
