“Wildlife gone.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 March 2013

I am a local Wildlife photographer, the Lee Valley people that look after the Fishers Green area do not seem to have their mind on wildlife but seem to think only of the Public walkways and Cyclists.
They cut down habitat every year at the wrong times,as Birds and Butterflies have more than one brood, habitat is cut down in August and September....Lots of people that use the Fishers Green area for wildlife photography are disgruntled,as there used to be much more wildlife in the area when it was run by more passionate wildlife people.

“Great for birdwatching”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 February 2013

My husband and I have been coming here for years in all weather and seasons. There are paths covering several acres of land which pass through forest, you can walk by the canal and meander round the several lakes and ponds - essential to take a pair of binoculars! We are usually there for about 3 hours and even on warm summer days on a Sunday, when lots of families come out to play you can still get away from the madding crowd. Downside - cyclists! You can spend a lot of time leaping out of the way, as they are entitled to use the paths as well - but we do very much enjoy this reserve. There are a number of bird hides as well as a delightful cafe with a terrace, a little of the beaten track, but it has a farm attached Lee Valley Park Farm and you can take the kids to see the farm animals for the cost of an entrance fee of around £5.00 off peak for adults and £4.80 for children.
