“where is the air conditioning”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 July 2014

without a showdown of a doubt possibly the worst stay in a hotel we have ever had. Arrived 15 July room was already 25 degrees according to the in room temp gauge. No air conditioning, just a cheap and nasty fan. Went for an evening meal, service and waiting time totally unbelievable, over an hour for the most simplest of meals. Both my wife and I felt ill through the night, mainly due to heat, we stayed 4 more days, it didn't get any better, the day we left the room was up to 28 degree's. Had to spend most evenings outside in the car park, just to stay cool. Interestingly the manager appears to drive an extremely expensive Porsche, perhaps that's where the air conditioning money went. I would whole heartedly NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL. Breakfast was a farce, always running out of food, coffee was nothing more than warm water. Not enough staff who worked hard and to the best of their ability under trying conditions. But not acceptable in todays climate. In total, a totally horrible stay. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL if you want a good night. I suspect Lenny Henry has never stayed here!!!!!!!!!!! And not eve cheap cost us over £ 300. I am sending a letter to the CEO for the arduous conditions we have just had to endure.

Room Tip: Rooms do not have air conditioning, be advised do not stay at the hotel. Think " Alex Guinness...

Stayed here a few times and it's been recently refurbished to a nice standard, the only thing that let it down before was when on ground floor the ceiling squeaks when people above move about.

On the first floor it's great as you don't have this.

Walls are a bit thin as I could hear couple going at it for a very short time, poor girl lol

Overall great rooms, clean & tidy.

the hotel was Ok simple and clean , but the breakfast was diabolical not because of the content but the organisation , you name it we waited for it ,tea bags , teacups , milk jugs , plates , croissants , hot water jam marmalade, butter , it was like faulty towers the staff were helpful , but they were running about like headless chickens , go to a cafe nearby.

Made an overnight stop due to Tour de France causing closure of roads in Cambridge preventing us leaving there at a suitable time the following day.
Room was very clean and comfortable. Disappointed to find no air conditioning or fan on a rather humid night, but otherwise nothing to find fault with. The pub next door provided what we needed in the way of sustenance, although did not try the breakfast, so cannot comment on that.

the hotel its self was ok has been refurbed but finishing off could be to a better standard.
The main thing that let it down was the pub attached to it, have a drink fine but don't eat there late, they stop food at 10pm we got there 9;30 ordered belly pork and lasagne, well I can only describe the belly pork fat as if someone had had the fat sucked out of them and put on our plate, the mash was like rubber. And ants all over the tables. Lasagne was a ding dinner. we ordered it came out almost the same time we ordered it so obviously chief was in a hurry.
We did complain about the pork and the waitress removed it from our food bill. Tables were sticky bar was really sticky, above all not nice.
we went into the hotel to cancel the breakfast but it was in price and couldn't get our money back , the receptionist said that the breakfast was premier inn standard so we went to breakfast, o god wish we hadn't bothered, my husband orders full English tells the girl what he wants on his plate and doesn't get half it anyway, the scrambled eggs looked like baby sick .
Defiantly wont stay there again

Room Tip: 2 min walk down the road go to the next pub along for dinner wish we had
