“Wonderful little place!!..”
Reviewed 11 August 2014 via mobile

I cannot recommend Piccolo's enough to ANYBODY.

Fantastic food, incredible atmosphere and some serious good prosecco!

We regularly visit with family, pre-show or just the two of us for a meal out.

Great specials and wonderful pizza. The garlic pizza bread is DIVINE!

You can't get better value for money than this place.

Wonderful!!!!

“Absolutely Delightful...”
Reviewed 3 August 2014

My Mum and I visited Piccolo's on a barmy, sunny Friday evening without having made a reservation at all. All of the 3 Restaurants above the Arches seemed totally packed so we weren't hopeful that we would be able to secure a table. What a welcome though...a high five and continental double kisses from lots of the staff which made us feel instantly at ease! We were assured that we could be "squeezed in" and indeed we were. Fabulous food from the start. A generous portion of Garlic Bread with Cheese was just £2.50 and delicious. For starters, I ordered Lobster Ravioli - pillows of pasta with light and delicate Lobster stuffing. Mum had roasted Stuffed Mushrooms. Lovely. We followed with Fillet Steak and Veal in a Mushroom and White Wine Sauce which both came with a selection of vegetables included - Saute Potatoes, Green Beans, Cauliflower and Mushrooms and Peppers. House wines are reasonable at about the £15 mark. The atmosphere was wonderful and the staff were hugely attentive (always keeping an eye on the diners and what needed to be actioned next). It has been quite a few years since my last visit to Piccolo's but I will definitely be heading back very, very soon. Would highly recommend!

“cosy home made italian”
Reviewed 29 July 2014

very cosy and home made italian quisine not far from the sea, portions are huge, and well presented, cakes are massive, therefore when u adds up the bill you can be a bit surprized, 35 pounds for two no alcohol, at southend on sea is too much for me, but otherwise very nice place

“Best Local Italian!”
Reviewed 30 June 2014 via mobile

Arrived here by chance as on prowl for dinner having just returned from a trip. Family run and their care and passion showed in the fab food! I cook Italian a lot but I have to admit this was good, very good! Made to feel welcome and comfortable! Lip smacking Gamberoni Vulcano, just the right amount of chilli! Mmm! Hubby loved homemade Ravioli con Funghi! It got even better - very rarely I order Lasagne because mine is good, but this might be better - Awesome! But still it got better - homemade Peach prosecco sorbet with fresh peaches, Damn it Piccolo you win hands down! Could not manage coffee or offer of Limoncello but next time and there will be a next time very soon ;)
