Description: Welcome to The Green Man, situated in the idyllic village of Little Braxted and located conveniently to the A12. Stunningly refurbished, the interior is a clever blend of old and new with oak beam & log fires to keep you warm in the winter. In the kitchen the emphasis is truly on everything local. Cooking at the The Green Man is the essence of a modern country public house and great fresh food is always available. On the daily specials menu, for example, you might find Rib Eye Steak, Pan Fried Sea Bream or Smoked Chicken Caesar Salad, and the dessert portions are not for the faint hearted. Outside in our beautiful garden we have picnic tables so you can enjoy Al fresco dining during the warmer months. Little Braxted is set in beautiful countryside with fantastic picturesque walks, this establishment makes a great stopping place for keen walkers & cyclists.

We were impressed by the Green Man. We used to come here when it was under previous ownership and looking at the more thoughtful recent reviews on TA we were interested to come back and try it again. (If people have problems with what they are expecting why don't they raise it at the time?)

From the friendly welcome with a smile (always a good start) to the very good choice of reasonable priced food - the changing menu is on the chalkboard to the right of the bar - our first impressions were very promising and it just got quietly better. It is a traditional old place which, thank goodness, has not been corporately tarted up.

We enjoyed a pint of good 'Cask Marque' real ale IPA. The food was very good indeed. I had lambs liver and bacon. The liver was beautifully tasty - and just lightly cooked therefore really tender and served with excellent bacon, onion gravy and good vegetables. I think it was about the £11 mark which I thought was a good price for a very good dish.

For puds we both had the bread and butter pudding. This was also very good indeed just like the very best you could make at home. Light and soft inside with a crispy top. Mine came with its own little jug of pouring cream and my wife's with a larger jug of custard. Excellent.

Thank you to all at The Green Man for all your hard work and for giving us a very enjoyable dinner. We will be back.

Late writing this but had the above two weeks ago with my wife and kids, a perfectly cooked trio of beef, pork and turkey, complimented by fresh vegetables. Top marks to Steve and the lovely Georgia who have successfully struck that difficult balance of maintaining a quaint old pub while serving keenly priced great quality British food, in a warm, welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. I consider myself very privileged to have found this little gem and look forward to my return very shortly.

Our Mother's day meal was absolutely delicious. The lamb in lavender was yummy and the beef hot pot was 'melt in the mouth'. Thank you for making my Mothering Sunday even more special! Hope to take my mum back for Easter Sunday.

The green man is our local pub and we feel very lucky that Stephen & Georgia moved in just as we moved to the village, there is always a friendly welcome and a personal service.

The food is very high quality but very reasonably priced, you can tell its all homemade and the meat quality is very good.

I cant recommend this quaint english pub enough,in a country where we are losing Alot of village pubs we fully support our local so that we don't lose it.

And if you haven't tried one yet you must enquire about the gourmet nights that stephen has designed, the value for money is quite amazing with a 3 course al a carte meal & canapés for only £15 per head,I've never seen value like that anywhere!

Keep up the amazing work!

Simon & coleen
