“Perfect in every way”

Myself, two friends from Sweden and my 10 year old son stayed in this wonderful cottage this August for two nights. It was a magical experience. It was so peaceful, relaxing and tranquil. Every detail has been considered throughout, making it a perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of life while being close to many beautiful places to visit in the heart of the Cotswolds. The village is friendly, accessible and small enough to wander round, offering great views of the countryside and of typical village life. I couldn't recommend it enough, the perfect place to escape to for a short break or longer stay. The surrounding area has so much to offer that you are spoilt for choice.

“brilliant stay in this lovely cottage near nature in the heart of Cotswolds”

We had the most brilliant stay in this lovely cottage near nature -with a babbling brooke just outside - in the heart of Cotswolds. Every little special detail thought of and very well kept.

Perfect for a quite week, beautiful area and genuine village, walked in the morning to the near villageshop to buy breakfast, just amazing to take in the old atmosphere.
Still and serene and yet near to everything If you wish, like stratford, Warwick etc.

Recommend a visit to the Cotswolds Falconary Centre, we wish we had had a whole day there!

We of course left our dog home in sweden but nice to see she also would have been welcome! She had loved bathing in the brooke just outside.

And the biggest Thank you to our host Lynn!! Ring her If you have any questions about anything, she is brill to talk to.

“Picturesque Cosy Cottage, Beautiful Location.”
Reviewed 29 June 2015 for a stay in June 2015

My wife and I stayed here with two American friends for a week in June. We wanted to show them the best of the Cotswolds and also stay in a typical small cottage that exemplified village life.
Brook Cottage fulfilled all of our expectations. It is just the right size for four people, having two separate bedrooms on separate floors, both with toilets. Despite the small size of the cottage frontage, these rooms had plenty of space and none of us felt we were in each other's way.
The living room has a large open fireplace and we actually had a log fire going on a couple of evenings when it got a bit chilly. (There is central heating by the way, controlled from a gas boiler in the upper bedroom).
The kitchen is exceptionally well appointed, including a large gas range, washer dryer and dishwasher. Outside the kitchen there is a secluded patio and back garden leading to a shed where there are a couple of BBQ's.
There are a few things that potential renters should be aware of and to give the owners credit they do mention some of these in their description.
The stairs are steep and narrow, especially up to the second bedroom, so if you have trouble with stairs then maybe this is not for you.
There is no walk in shower, just a large bathtub with a mixer attachment.
If your cell phone is a critical part of your anatomy, then be aware that there is little or no signal anywhere in the cottage, and even the TV signal would break up every now and again.
Finally if you are renting, when you arrive check that the central heating timer is set to the correct time. On our first night we couldn't understand why the boiler was running long after we had all turned in for the night, and it turned out that the clock was 5 hours adrift!
However none of these small issues detracted from our enjoyment of the property and it's peaceful surroundings. We would definitely recommend it and hope to return one day.

“Beautiful cottage in an idyllic setting in an unspoilt village”

Brook Cottage is a beautiful cottage with bags of charm and character. It is an idyllic position by a babbling brook and away from the High Street. The cottage has everything you need and is very charming and welcoming.
The village is unspoilt by tourism and the locals are very friendly. It also has great facilites, the shop & cafe are excellent - you must try their bacon butties! There are also 2 other places in the village that serve good food. I had a very peaceful and relaxing week and cannot wait to return.

“Our own little 'Escape to the Country' .... Magic”
Reviewed 20 June 2014 for a stay in June 2014

Brook Cottage is an absolute delight. I have always fancied an 'Escape to the Country' and this certainly fulfilled my dream. It is comfortable, well appointed (beside a babbling brook), well equipped and maintained, and in the most perfect location. Brockley is a picturesque and unspoiled little village - so pretty and historic. It is well placed to use as a base for some great walks in the country - we walked to Chipping Campden and Moreton-in-Marsh. The town itself has a little shop/cafe, and three local pubs. We ate at both the Great Western Arms and Lower Brook House, both of which were excellent. Our break at the cottage is something we will remember for ever..
