“Friendly cafe”
Reviewed 15 April 2014

Great place to walk to on a Sunday morning for a good coffee and a read of the paper. Friendly service and reasonably priced. Pleased to have this locally and to be able to support local businesses.

“Quaint, but surprisingly well-stocked”
Reviewed 28 November 2013

Deceptively roomy once inside, this 'little' local shop contains more stock than you might expect, including lovely fresh bread, basic essentials and a fab selection of wines (standard fair to higher end stuff). The cafe offers a more than adequate menu, featuring great baguettes, bagels and snacks, with staff happy to 'bespoke' your order if you're a fussy eater. They're also amenable to having orders telephoned through for later collection (spot on for arranging fresh light lunches for meetings on the nearby business parks).

“Indifferent Service and Jobsworth attitude”
Reviewed 10 September 2013

Have been several times on a Sunday morning for a coffee and snack over the past few years and am very disappointed that the staff attitude and indifference has kept sliding on a downward spiral. It is the only Cafe in a picturesque Cotswold village with a trickle of customers to serve. How hard is it to welcome customers with a smile?? Rather than a look at the clock on the wall and at 1230 say we close in 30 minutes so there is not hot/ warm food or sandwiches (not even one of their warm sausage rolls kept in a heated cabinet!)

The Cafe and shop are a Community project which I belive has recently won £500k of Lottery funding. Spend some of that money on training staff please to give customers a welcome befitting these more enlightened customer service orientated times. If nothing else and at Zero cost, watch a few Alex Polizzi (The Hotel Inspector, etc) TV programs to see how it should be done!

“Great local food , especially for breakfast”
Reviewed 25 July 2013

This a great cafe , a community one, but sources from local farmers. We have been loads if times, and service can vary, but it is a community shop, were local people can get trained as well as experienced . However the food and especially coffee is regularly excellent.

“Lovely community cafe and shop”
Reviewed 13 June 2013

Delightfully friendly community shop and cafe. Serve excellently breakfasts in a friendly and comfortable atmospher. Not fine dining, but very good nevertheless. If you are there at an appropriate time, they serve an excellent glass of reasonably priced house wine as well. Wish it every success, they try really really hard.
