“Beautiful Little Hotel”
Reviewed 30 June 2014 via mobile

Lovely little hotel! Stayed for a summer escape in the forest, three nights, two with amazing dinners in the restaurant!
Beautiful garden to sit in the evenings with a local cider or beer. Within easy reach of Forest of Dean, Symonds Yat and all the surrounding area.
Would definitely recommend to those who like a little escape in the Countryside!

Dear Emma J
I'm delighted to hear you enjoyed your summer escape.
We are extremely lucky to have such beautiful unspoilt countryside on our doorstep. I'm glad you were able to make the most of it and enjoyed the food and hospitality whilst at the hotel.
Thanks for taking the time to write this review and we hope to welcome you again in the future.
Best wishes

We've just returned from spending our minimoon at the Tudor Farm House and had a brilliant time. Booked 3 nights and ended up staying 4 as we enjoyed it so much! On arrival they upgraded us to the cottage suite foc.
The food in the restaurant and service were both excellent.
All staff were very friendly and helpful.
Will definitely return and recommend.

The staff are first rate from booking to checking out. The food is excellant we ate on two evenings and had the tasting menu with wine on one occasion. My wife is vegetarian and this was no problem for the chef. Breakfast is also of good quality.
There are a range of rooms differing substantially in price. We had the cheapest, a Junior Barn room. The room was clean and well appointed. The bathroom at the point of needing a refit. The rooms only have a dormer ceiling window. The room was too warm at night and the weather wasn't particularly warm so beware if hot.The bed was double not kingsize.
Location is good with easy access to the Forest of Dean
This would be 5 star plus if the room was better.

Room Tip: if choosing a junior barn ask for a dowstairs room

Dear Logistical
Thanks for taking the time to review your recent stay - I so glad you had a good time and found the service and food "first rate".
The room you stayed in in the Junior Barn is due a refurbishment this winter so I hope you will be tempted to return next spring to see the changes we have made.
Very best wishes
Colin

Really enjoyed our weekend stay at Tudor Farmhouse. Beautiful setting, great room, amazing food and lovely, very helpful staff. At the top end of our budget but completely worth it. We thought it would be good given the reviews and our expectations were exceeded!

Room Tip: We had a room on the 2nd floor of the main building which we loved but would not recommend to anyone...

Second visit to this hotel. Great place to stop on business or holiday. Lovely village to walk around and good lounge to sit in in the hotel.
Food is very good - lots of local input.
Breakfast good too - good choice.

We returned to celebrate our anniversary, having last stayed 26 years ago on our first weekend away - now married with children at university it seemed the perfect time to return. We were not disappointed. The staff are efficient and friendly, the grounds are beautifully kept. In particular the lovely seating area with a small selection of tables where tea/coffee or in the morning breakfast can be taken. The kitchen garden with chickens and ducks opposite is a delight and available for guests to walk round, as is the 14 acres of land. The Package included B&B for 3 nights plus dinner on 2 of the nights in one of the 'Cider House' rooms @ £500 - whilst not cheap the whole experience was excellent. The chef enjoys mixing flavours and techniques to bring the best out of the fresh local ingredients - meals are beautifully presented and served by great staff. The other guests were also very happy to chat in the relaxed garden area - this made for an especially pleasant stay. We will not leave it so long for our next visit - we are keen to try a room with a view!

Room Tip: Treat yourself to a Cider House room - Room 7 - lovely but not a room to sit about in as there is...

This fabulous hotel lives up to all the great reviews. The attention to detail is fantastic - lots of lovely little touches. We booked the entire hotel for a company conference and weren't disappointed! The food was sublime and the staff excellent. I will definitely be visiting again!
