Booked what we thought was a four star hotel - really a poor B&B - tatty accommodation, cramped , tiny shower, filthy carpet - breakfast was ok -

Last minute business trip to Salford, very few hotels with vacancies, Beaucliffe did at a very reasonable price. Very convenient location just off motorway. Checked in without problem. Room on top flor with 1 single and 1 double bed in, very little room, could only just open shower room door wide enough to get in, walking sideways! Room very cold even though radiator was on (it was extremely cold night outside). Needed PhD in advanced technology to operate TV controls, which I havent got! Breakfast was passable. Overall its what you would expect for the price. Will try to find alternative hotel next time

My friend booked us a quad room that slept 4 last weekend. It was £22.50 pp including breakfast. The room was horrible with tiled cieling, holes in the beedroom furniture, stained carpet, mould in the bathroom and a dirty toliet. My bed did not even touch the wall, there was a large gap behind.
This hotel needs closing with a health warning. The only plus was the bedding did look clean unlike the bathroom.
Breakfast was either a cooked breakfast or beans and toast. The breakfast was ok - i ate toast and had a cup of tea. Next time ill sleep in the car!

We booked this hotel as all hotels in the area were full due to the rugby final at Old Trafford. The hotel does have its own car park which is possibly the only positive point. It is very dated and does need a major refurb. However the bedroom was clean and the staff were helpful.
The bed was so thin and creaky, the room lighting was quite dark and in general the rooms are very basic, it was ok for just one night.
I also found it strange that breakfast finished at 9am on a Sunday morning. Most hotels serve until 11ish on a Sunday, hence why we did not make breakfast.
If you need to stay in Salford, I would recommend you shop around and book somewhere at Salford Quays.

It is a very basic hotel but rates are low. My room had just enough space for a cot. There was no chair / table. Breakfast was okay. The best part is that it is right near the main road but very quiet. Building is a little old and floors do creak.

We booked this hotel for the first night of a family trip. The only purpose was to get some sleep after arriving late at night at Manchester Airport. Arriving at the hotel after midnight was not a problem, since we asked in advance. We were only asked to call the reception by phone instead of ringing the bell. The hotel was easy to be reached from the motorway. There was a free private car park right in front of the building, so we only had to walk a few meters in the dark. The rooms were of a very basic standard, but acceptable for a one night stay. WiFi was available in the lobby only. Cooked breakfast was ok. We wouldn't recommend this hotel for a longer stay, though.

Pulling up to the place after a 3 hour drive I thought the outside looked a little tired, but the sign had 4 stars proudly showing on there.
The staff were friendly enough, chinese was shut so no evening food (Wound up driving into Manchester center to get an evening meal).
The room was quite possibly the worst place I have ever stayed in, probably never been hoovered as we had a fake eyelash sitting staring up at us from the 1920's carpet. The bathroom "door" didn't bode well and the finish quality in the shower/toilet was atrocious.
Still using the same icecream tub for the tea/coffee as the other reviewer had mentioned.
Couldn't wait to get out of there the next day so wound up going to the business meeting hungry, rather than pushing our luck and attempting the greasy smells eminating from the dining room.
I don't know where the photos on their website originate from, but I think they might have a bit of digital "tweaking" done to them to make it look the way it does. No signs of the peeling awful wallpaper or pictures hung the wrong way up we had.
There's a Premier Inn ~400 yards down the road and had I known I'd have had the office book us into that instead.
