The decor is very dated but the rooms are clean and comfortable. However, Our room was above the function room and someone was having a party! The noise was horrendous and went on until gone 1. There was no way we could sleep! It made the 5 hour journey the next day very difficult for us and totally ruined tge experience!

A good bank holiday weekend spent in Manchester, the Copthorne was comfortable with good service and excellent value for money. Booking with gala hotels was easy and without any problems, will use them again

On first appearances we were really pleased with the room and facilities, however after returning from our evening out is when it went way down!
There was a wedding on and we were on the third floor, however the thumping from the music could clearly be heard until late, we were ok with this though as it's a wedding.
Unfortunately we had a rather large amount of selfish inconsiderate Chinese guests on our floor who thought all night slamming heavy doors, banging and running back and forth to each other's rooms whilst playing music was acceptable! This was between 3am and 5.30am, eventually after being awake for 2 hours (extremely peed off at this point) I stormed outside and before opening my mouth one of them kept saying sorry.... Clearly aware of their noise. He got a mouthful and eventually shut up!!
The bed was very hard and uncomfortable along with the pillows, so our sleep was awful!

We then woke up in the morning hoping to have a cup of tea unfortunately there was a stain on the mug which looked to be another persons lipstick. How lovely.
Also upon leaving I attempted to tidy the bed and found blood on the quilt cover which did not come from any of us.
At this point I was ready to leave, fortunately for the receptionist she didn't ask me if my stay was ok......I wonder why??

Room Tip: Stay at the ibis over the road!

Very well located with respect to Old Trafford if that's your place of visit. Just a short walk away.
Hotel is bit of a disappointment. Very run down and needs a refurb. Hotel has river view but never offered on check in even as a upsell. Best part of room was the bed which was comfortable.

I stay here a lot for Man Utd games so for convenience to OT it's fantastic. The rooms and hotel itself are dated. The bar is small and can be very noisy. The breakfast room is in need of attention. There is decent parking and it's close to the Lowry Centre.

I stayed here when I went down to Old Trafford. Short walk to the stadium, decent rooms and reasonable prices but for some reason out room had more continental plug sockets than British ones. Good breakfast in the morning. Short taxi journey to the Trafford Centre as well. Will look at this hotel again for my next visit to Old Trafford.

Reception staff were excellant, everything after that went down hill.Only one of two lifts were working, this having been the case for at least 2 weeks.Lift that was working appeared to be steam driven.Old ,musty smell from room corridors, carpeting in a very stained state.Room 329,carpets were in much the same stained condition, certaily wouldn't have walked barefoot on them.Decor was tired ,dated and wall paper was peeling in many area's.Overall, this room requres a maintenance man for at least 2 days to sort small things out and then a total makeover to bring it up to standard.Cheap hotel for Manchester , but the old "you get what you pay for" really does apply here.
