I am a regular visiter to Manchester and I have stayed in various hotels from the ghastly Britannia to the Midland.
I picked the Copthorne firstly for its location, easy access to the city centre as the tram stop is a couple of minutes walk away and the competitive price.
I was concerned about previous comments but as it was a business trip I gave it a try last Friday night.
The hotel did not disappoint in any way. The service from the staff was brilliant and very friendly and they always engaged in a conversation. The hotel public areas were clean, with good facilities very reasonable menu and bar prices.
The room again was clean tidy no air con but a fan provided.
It had a lovely water view of the Salford basin.
I booked the breakfast for £8 again a very good choice between an unlimited buffet hot meal or a continental style.
Again good value and very nice.
To sum up the hotel decor needs to be upgraded but that does not detract from the quality of staff and service.
All round a very good stay and it certainly passed the,“ would I stay here with my wife and friends?”
